Taz-

Sadly, Lotus need Maldonado's PDVSA dollars, so there's little chance of him departing the scene any time soon. Another damning indictment on the state of play in F1. For sure there have always been well funded drivers in F1, but Maldonado is really rubbing other (more talented) drivers' noses in it. Hard to believe he's actually a race winner, given his total ineptness both before and after he won for Williams...

I'm under no illusions that Nandos will be around as long as his oil dollars are backing him. He has speed but is inconsistent, dangerous and is unbelievably arrogant. Not qualities that will even endear him to F1 fans. He thinks that talent got him that Lotus drive, Williams were delighted to see the back of him.

He needs to worry about his future not Grosjean's, money he may have but for how long, his backers won't keep pumping money in unless he improves and gets a good car, at the moment he is an accident waiting to happen and does'nt appear able to improve his racecraft, a win he has but the chances of a second are less than nil within two years he will be gone, there's a long line of drivers after a drive many of then with money, oh and talent!

If pastor keeps some ice in his pocket, he can only get better, this year has literally been a disaster for his future hopes, all PM needs to do is run ice cold and fight hard for race/qualifying pace. Hopefully Lotus manage to deliver a reliable car and Renault have something better for next year, ... Will the motors still be frozen? Maybe Lotus can jump on the Honda bandwagon.

“From the beginning of the season there was a department at the factory fully focused on next year's car.

Not so much a department, more a wardrobe with a sign on saying "Narnia this way"

It must be hard for both the Lotus boys this year. I think they are both talented and it's a shame the car has taken a giant leap backwards from what it was last year. Lotus need to provide Maldonado and Grosjean with a capable car if they want to see podiums and maybe a win. A driver can only use so much of his ability if the car is crap.

" Maldonado who signed a new one-year contract extension at the German Grand Prix said the pair work well together and would be happy for the line-up to remain unchanged."

When your teammate crashes in the garage, warm up lap, 1st turn, simulator, etc. and keeps bringing millions, that would work well, as long as the carnage is behind you!
