He may not have recent F1 experience, but he sure as hell can pedal a powerful single seater as proved by the multiple wins he has had in FNippon over the last few seasons. These cars are GP2 Level at least and the Audi LMP cars are not exactly slow and incorporate a lot of the new technology found on current F1 cars.

so you invest untold riches in a struggling F1 team, employ Colin Kolles to run in it so that he can promote his old mates with no F1 experience from other categories? sounds like a plan.

I feel sorry for the Japanese fans that donated millions in sponsorship to Kobayashi, I hope he didn't give too much to the team for his drive. Investing anything in this team has to be the most pointless waste of money F1 has seen in a while.

Obviously they haven't told Kobayashi who just 10h ago on twitter believed he was driving this weekend. Also this smacks in the face of what the team principle has said that the drivers are safe as long as they perform.

I'm disappointed for Kobayashi if this is the case, he's been waiting for upgrades and they've given him nothing to work with this year despite clearly being the better driver.
