Good, F1 should not be limited to driving at 200mph/320kph.

Driver risk aside, if the cars cannot be unglued from the track, there is little skill required. Or going at it from a different view, if they can't destabilize the car due to top speed, you may as well drive at slower speeds and race at them because you produce the same effect.

I dont get this. First they were saying the cars are difficult to drive this year .
Then everybody were saying the cars are too easy to drive .
Now again im hearing the cars gonna be tricky to drive.
I mean what the hell is wrong with those people?

EdOz: With the gearing not being allowed to be changed this could turn out to be a procession of cars hitting the limiter... seriously hope I'm wrong

None of these cars come close to the rev limit due to fuel consumption. 15K is the "official limit". 10-11K is the actual self imposed fuel economy rpm limit. Just another example of new F1.

The rules allow one change of gear ratios during this season.
The FIA PU rev limit is 15k rpm, than there is the rev limit the teams set their engines at.
The mandated max fuel flow of 100kg/hr is set at 10500 rpm, above these engine rpm no additional power will be produced.

My opinion is that F1 cars should be allowed to drink as much fuel as they want and scream as loud as they want, producing as much revs and speed as can be safely done. It is meant to be the ultimate in performance and technology Motorsport, not a form of Prius racing. If anybody is offended by the amount of fuel that gets burnt or the noise pollution etc, tell them to p..s off and watch solar cars race. Bring back the good old days and the beasts that sorted the men from the boys.
