I am surprised at how many people who read the Crash.net site, read it only for what they want to get out of it.
Hungarian GP, Q3. Lewis went out and disobeyed the system the team had set up to get the cars to the end of qualifying with the best chance. He did an extra fuel burning lap to what he was told to do. He should have been in for his final tyres before Alonso, but got hinself out of synch with the system, and came in behind Alonso, who was held to get him in the best position to do his final lap.Now who was wrong, The 2 times World Champion, or the Rookie who disobeyed team orders???????
Also ask yourselves why so many seasoned veterans said the crime did not fit the punishment.

everything is clear, Hamilton got the pole, the win and 5 points + over Alonso, McLaren will get the team points after the appeal and only Alonso will be the looser in this history.

I Love FIA :?

I think they should just forget about the whole affair and move on. This isn't doing them or the sport any favours.

McLaren's sponsors can't be happy - there is a big anti-Hamilton faction happening in Spain now and Alonso isn't much more popular here either. McLaren are really hovering over the self-destruct button with all this. Even so, don't think they should have been penalised by removing their chance for scoring points. Its like punishing them for punishing themselves...

Alonso isn't really popular anywhere, outside of Spain, of course... I've seen more Spanish Ferrari-fans here in Hungary, than I've seen Alonso-fans. He got the bird everytime he appeared. I'm pretty sure he will leave McLaren by the end of the year. Hamilton and Ron Dennis will make up, and everything will be back to normal. McLaren will win the constructor's championship even if they don't get those 15 points. If, of course they can get on with their work, and the feud between the pilots doesn't escalate to some Senna-Prost-type "bodycheck" actions, leaving Ferrari laughing third...

I think the team should get the 15 points as they did nothing wrong. It was a mistake on Hamilton's part that should not cost the team. In the end it is bad enough the team in looking like imploding and taking one of the best seasons for a long time with it. There is no reason for the team to suffer just let all the teams get on with there jobs and make the sport as fun to watch as it always has been.

If you remember when the mighty Schum parked his car at Monaco, he got demoted to the back of the grid, of which I think at the time was fare.

However the team was not hit by the loss of constructor points, this I believe for McLaren is harsh and not in the favour of the sport.

Could this be meddling by the FIA to "Spice" up the competition and close the gap to the next winning team. Whoever that may be???

Call me cynical, but stranger things have happened.

If the McLaren "team" drivers want to shot themselves in the foot, then so be it. As everyone has seen only the McLaren team and their sponsors have suffered.

It would be interesting if sweet FA left and was replaced by J Button. Now that would be interesting to see who really is the best driver in one of the best cars on grid, team parity and space in the pits permitting of course!

Seems everyone is missing the point as to why the team was punished. Ron Dennis's actions on pit wall, handling of Alonso's trainer and his actions at the weigh in brought him and his team the penalty. If it was'nt for that nothing would have happened. I believe his appeal will be unsuccessful.
