I disagree with Simon. After Massa's title chances were over, Ferrari's best equipment went to Raikkonen. He certainly had a great season, and most of his bad results were due to Ferrari's lack of reliability. Massa earns a lot less than Raikkonen, yet he had very similar results.

Seems a really odd decision considering Massa has looked more ragged towards the end of this year and the driver market is likely to be volatile until Fernando's position is clear.

Might this just be internal politics within Ferrari with Todt putting one over LDM?

Massa has grown up and can be relied upon to deliver.

No way!
Massa is definitely not Champions stuff.
As soon as he gets under pressure, he's still a bagful of mistakes (Spa this year). Nerves, temper, coolness.
No way he will ever be able to fight against cooler colleagues for the title.
He's just another R. Schumacher, D. Coulthard, JP Montoya, E. Irvine and R. Barrichello: pretty quick and proven race winners in the right car, but NEVER serious contenders for the championship.

Taffy
you have a loose mouth....
Massa did hav a good season tampered by luck... he doesn´t convince me either but he did a fine job the first half of the year.

I also agree with your comments on the other driver, but on JPM, Montoya was great fir the sport, a little crazy maybe, but did one mistake... to join McBastards and Dennis the pirate...

Lets go Kimi... miracles could happend!!!

Massa will tow the line for Ferrari.

He knows how things work in the team and is willing to play his part.

Taffy is right in saying he isn't a champion though ... but he is a true team driver I believe.

Massa is among the four fastest drivers on 2007 and Ferrari couldn't replace him short of signing Alonso or Hamilton. While this season he's behind Kimi, Felipe is by no means less capable of beating the Mclarens in any given day. Sure, hindsight is 20/20 but to bet against Massa especially in the last race in Brazil where he's truly fast is a poor gambler.

Massa is a good driver & consistent. I think he lacks aggressiveness which makes drivers push their cars 2 d limit. However Kimi, with his aggressiveness did not do much better either. So Massa needs to push harder and I think he'll make it like last year with Schumi. He performed better than anyone ever expected. We need 2 accept d fact that Ferrari need 2 improve to give their drivers a more competitive car.
D Ferrari contract with Massa makes me think that Kimi is leaving and some1 else is taking his 1st place. Who knows who will b joining d team.It may well b Alonso or Ham. But there r other good drivers on d scene with an inferior car.

Although i hope to be proved wrong next year, Massa's signning a contract to stay with Ferrari until 2010, his long years as No:2 to MS, has given Massa the attitude that he is a No:2 driver.

He could have been so much more if he had gone to a team where he could have new opportunities.

I'm afraid FM, i feel that you have made a terrible mistake
