"It is not yet known whether the drivers will face any kind of penalty, but the matter is likely to be investigated after the second practice session."

It's believed the whole matter will be swept under the carpet because Gold Boy is involved.

PS, sort those bloody annoying ads out that block where I type, jeez.

He was not sanctioned by something as blatant as Fuji, and there is that crane that pulled him out of the gravel at Nurburgring, it was banned in the next race. He jumped the chicane at Monza, and not to forget about his dismal placement on the grid, with the car completely twisted. He won in Hungary with a gearbox that did not passed the shock test, which should have meant their exclusion, but the British need a champion. He will be champion even if it is in a scandalous as the way the world outside the Isles see it. The only thing we can say on a positive way is that: McLaren make better Ferraris than the Italians do...Go Springboks, they can not bend the rules there, can they?

Grumpy-doctor, why drag Hamiltons colour into it? Nobody objects to the colour of his skin, it is 2007 after all. what we do object to is the fact that he's a conceited, self opinionated mouthy spoilt little brat that has had everything handed to him on a plate! He'd get far more respect if he'd worked his way up like everyone else & not been given the best car in his first season. Even if he wins the championship he will always be tainted as winning in a cheating car!

Hey Gumpy_Doctor. I think you are the Fascist person here, there has yet to be any remarks made from the Italians about the persons race and it seems the only people here that are talking about race is the ones that must be insecure about a black man being champ.

As to Perry, Tires is how we spell it in the states, I accept your spelling and understand F1 is a global sport, lets not make it petty.

As for Japan, the tire decision was one hour before the race and Ferrari and the FIA aknowlege there was a break down in comunication sice the didt't get receipt of ferrari receiving it till 8 minutes after the start. :? McLaren broke season long rules. :?

If Hamilton wins on Sunday, the racist fascists in Italy (Ferrari) will be crying into their spaghetti for failing to stop a 'black man' win the F1 championship. If Lewis fails, he is still the most successful new driver of all time. It's time for the Italians to realise that WWII is over, the world has moved on, and black people are as equal as any white. :)

Meldru, what are you going on about? Far worse than a grid penalty? How did you work that out?
We all saw them try to fuel them to the end behind the safety car which would have put them in a prime posistion.

Funny how both drivers had pitstops within 1 lap of each other all the way through and just 'by chance' the car that was infront and not in with a shot at the drivers championship suddenly didnt have enough petrol to get to the end.

They didn't care about Massa, they already had the constructors in the bag so it didnt matter where he finished, same will happen on sunday. Convinient way to impose team orders!

Hey Perry, There was a penalty. Ferrari was forced to come in and change tires which costed them their position. And considering they were 3rd and 4th and ended up 19th and 20th after the stop it was far worse than a 10 spot grid penalty. McLarren are aware of the rules and blatently ignored them. Japan was a last minute email, not a rule that has stood all year and been touched on at the begining of the season. I say treat Golden Boy like they did Ferrari and make him come in off the start and loose all his possitions.

Hey Tony, Adam, and Clarence, cast your mind back a few weeks, that is if you are able to. There is a very recent precedent of inappropriate tyre use which went unpunished. When Ferrari started the Japanese GP on intermediate tyres. The FIA took the blame and allowed Ferrari to get away with it. So the FIA are allowed to make mistakes, I bet they say that McLaren are not.
