If this happens I may never watch F1 again. I have had less and less faith in the overly political nature of F1, and have questioned the legitimacy of some team's actions, and whether some results are true reflections of what should have happened, which shouldn't happen in sport! This is one step too far.

F1 » BMW investigation to gift Hamilton title?

Both BMWs are thought to be being investigated by the FIA for fuel irregularities.

You know that they'll pull any strings to keep the title with a Brit. They fined and took points from the team and left the drivers alone, didn't they?

i wanted kimi to win it, but it would be a fitting end to a season where investigations decided one title, so why not the other! poor form for the FIA and its stewards

perhaps the fia should employ a fuel tzar next year, the cynic in me thinks that frank & patrick could have 'instigated' such a fuel iregularity / ****up in support of Ron & Lewis to ultimately piss on ferraris bonfire

Although Lewis has had an amazing rookie season and you can't take away the fact that he is talented (albeit in one of the grids best cars) you cannot say he earned the drivers championship today if he is awarded it. I, for one hope he is not given it.

This would be a real bad thing to do.. Though it was dissapointing for Lewis, this is not the way to win a title. To be frank, Kimi really deserves the title for his great performances.. Even if they find any illegal matter used in the cars, they should just strip off the drivers and/or teams from the points while keeping the positions intact. And anyway, a lot of other rule breakers have walked away without any punishment this season. It would be a real shame for the sport if the title is decided this way..

ME, You talk the biggest load of garbage I have ever heard. If the cars are illegal then I am sure the appropriate action will be taken. If they gained no advantage then I am sure they will not lose their points. To suggest the FIA is manipulating things is nonsense. You obviously don't like Hamilton, but start talking some sense.

What a mess, but if the fuel is illegal, then the rule should be enforced. End of story...

C'mon play the game hamilton however disappointing was beaten fair and square it would be unfair to fix it so that he became world champion and I'm sure lewis would not want win the championship by default.

******* hilarious... F1 seems to be all about lawyers, loop holes, fines, and stewards... It seems they're all cheating *******.

I think I'll stick to watching the domestic BTCC next year.
