If this happens I may never watch F1 again. I have had less and less faith in the overly political nature of F1, and have questioned the legitimacy of some team's actions, and whether some results are true reflections of what should have happened, which shouldn't happen in sport! This is one step too far.

F1 » BMW investigation to gift Hamilton title?

Both BMWs are thought to be being investigated by the FIA for fuel irregularities.

Well they screwed Button over a few years ago on a illegal fuel tank...

So the FIA must surely take similiar action... or just cover the whole thing up???

ive never commented on here, but i read them, and im English, and WAS cheering on Hamilton this year, and today. but i just had to comment...

If Kimi loses his title, well... :? he does not deserve to lose it at all. He won it fair today and fully deserves to keep it.

i can only hope come the morning the results are still the same. But it would just sum up all the politics involved this year, has truly killed what should have been the best championship in years.

please Nick, be serious.

Lift affair: FIA said this can not be done, next time it will be a punishment (not for LH this time).

LH stop&go manoeuvres behind safety car. Same story: next time... bla, bla, bla.

China:LH stays in his car for minute and 15 seconds asking the stewards to push him. Rules are clear you mus abandon your car as soon as possible in a dangerous area and the entry of the pitlane with a wet track is dangerous indeed.

I seem to rememner that Alonso and Little Lewie are only still in it because it was decided not to punish the drivers for something that the team did. I assume that same principle will apply for BMW and Williams? If it doesn't, and their drivers are penalised, Ferrari must appeal the leniency of the intial decision and get the Mclaren drivers excluded from the whole championship.

If the results is overturned it would be ironic as it would pretty much sum up the whole season!

I hope for everyone's sake that it's a storm in a teacup, if Hamilton and the F1 championship is decided post race it's a disgrace, yet again Formula One has stooped to depths never before seen in modern day sport, well actually probably not!

We want the champoinship to be decided on the track not post race or in the courts.

Hamilton may be a good driver but to be fair Raikkonen has actaully driven a better season than Hamilton and on this occasion deserves to be champion.

Oh lets hope it's another twist that fails to disrupt an already tarnished season!

I dont know what to say, just stunned and if the FIA do this, Todays Grand Prix would have been the last one I have watched.

What a farce! I am a LH fan and wanted him to win. But Kimi won fair and square and I'm sure if LH had his way he wouldn't to win the title this way, it would be a hollow victory and he would always be known as the champion who won by default. Much better to just take it on the chin and use the dissapointment to motivate him for next season.
