If this happens I may never watch F1 again. I have had less and less faith in the overly political nature of F1, and have questioned the legitimacy of some team's actions, and whether some results are true reflections of what should have happened, which shouldn't happen in sport! This is one step too far.

Both BMWs are thought to be being investigated by the FIA for fuel irregularities.

Rules are rules and if Williams or BMW broke those rules it's more than fair to suffer the consequences, no matter what this would do to the rankings. If this would have happened in the beginning of the season they would have been doubtlessly disqualified. Why should be this time any different? It's not the way to win a championship, but it wouldn't be the only unfair thing that would make a man champion (Raikkonen wouldn't be guilty for BMW's not sticking to the rules as Hamilton wasn't guilty for his car not working half a lap in the beginning of the race).

If this is only an excuse to force Hamilton to be a champion, then it would be a black day for motorsport. If not...hail Hamilton.

BMW and Williams, if found guilty should have there positions removed from the race as you can't reward cheating. I remember when Button got done for the fuel tank a few years ago they docked his points and banned him a few races. Will the FIA let a none Ferrari person win by default??, I'm not too sure, but I'm sure if Lewis does get the title awarded to him it wouldn't be as bad as others are making out, he has rewritten the history books. He deserves the title as he has been on the podium the most frequent this season.

this is unbelievable, if lewis gets the title like that, i will never watch F1 again. Ferrari fully deserves the title, they won it on track, if BMW drivers are DSQ, then Ferrari should sue the FIA over the espionage decision, not to dsq the mclaren drivers. this is ridiculous..

I think that lewis should be awarded the championship because he was going about the same pace as the bmws and rosberg and the iligal fuel is said to make them go faster. and in all fairness i thought that lewis would of caught them. i don't think lewis will be to pleased if he wins the championship like this. if the desicion goes that the results srand i believe that kimi is a true champion and that lewis tried and didnt sucseed and unlucky for him. I support both men and there is always next year for lewis.

Kimi Raikkonen has won the championship fair and square and without unsavoury goings on at mclaren. This is the only result contemplating.

I wouldn't have bothered posting, but I want to puit a bit of perspective on this. If it is found that the fuel was illegal and giving the cars an unfair advantage then they should be disqualified, teams shoudl be punished for breaking the rules, whether it is the last race or not.

Whether the Stewards/FIA act or not, they are screwed. Either they allow cheating, devauling the sport, or they take away Kimi's title - even though he drove a strong race and has already been awarded champion status.

Neither looks good, however IF the cars are illegal my personal feeling is that they should be disqualified or their final times increased relative to the performance they gained (but ambiguous).

As a Hamilton fan I don't know what to make of this. Think it would be incredibly harsh on Raikkonen. After doing so well in 2003 & 2005 he does deserve at least one championship. However, if BMW and/or Williams are found guilty they should be disqualified.

In my opinion, the FIA will take away the constructors points and leave the drivers points as they are.

I really don't think Lewis would want the title in this fashion and although his race was today was un-fortunate, I'm sure he's hoping these guys don't get dq'd. But I'm actually really happy for Kimi, he came so close on many occassions but bad luck has always been the deciding factor for him, and not his skill's. If the FIA dq's these guys because they did actually broke the rules them some sort of penalty's will have to be imposed. I mean if McLaren had to pay the ultimate price over text msg's between Pedro and Alonso than these guys should be penalized as well even if un-fortunately gives Lewis the title I'm sure that he wouldn't want to take this way.

If the situation were reversed and I am sure that the FIA would deal with the matter in th same way. Let's allow the evidence to emerge and if punishment necessary that it be without bias. If fowl play is evident then the chips will fall as they will. It would be a massive shame to end on such a note but it has been the tone of the season and it would be fitting to end on such controversy.
