If this happens I may never watch F1 again. I have had less and less faith in the overly political nature of F1, and have questioned the legitimacy of some team's actions, and whether some results are true reflections of what should have happened, which shouldn't happen in sport! This is one step too far.

Both BMWs are thought to be being investigated by the FIA for fuel irregularities.

I agree, I am a lewis hamilton fan and do not wish to see Kimi lose his title, however Rules are in place for a reason and a sport which choses to only apply them when they see fit is in a very dangerous situation. The FIA has to be seen to be taking a fair approach, circumstances should not come into it.

It appears that 2 of the 3 cars were a fair margin outside the limit, one reading on the BMWs car was 14 degrees. thats 40% outside the limit. I firmly believe that had this not been for the last race then the stewards would have instally disqualified both the team and drivers as it has been stated that this infringment does lead to an advantage. How big of an advantage i don't know

http://www.formulaf1.com/2007/10/22/yahoo-kimi-keeps-championship-despite-fuel-probe/

"Breaking F1 news:

According to Yahoo/Eurosport, BMW and Williams will not be punished for their fuel irregularity during the Brazilian Grand Prix. This means that Lewis Hamilton remains classified 7th and does not take the World Drivers Championship away from Kimi Raikkonen."

AND

All good news then!

highlight of the race was hearing numpty james allen close to tears announcing that kimi has just won the championship :-o

I just hope the FIA fines and takes away the CONSTRUCTORS points like they did to Benetton & Williams in 1995, not the DRIVERS points. Kimi deserves this one, and if Hamilton gets it, then there's gonna be a severe backlash for F1.

The precedent to deal with cheating has already been established.Simply remove or in this case don't award the Constructors points but let the drivers points stand.Or does that "rule" only apply when it benefits Hamilton.

Kimi 6 race wins, Hamilton 4 wins and Alonso 4. The deserved champion of any series should be the person with the most wins, like in this case. I rest my case, so should the FIA!

I have read a lot of comments about LH being a cheat and shouldn't win the title etc etc. However if the BMW and Williams cars broke the rules then they should be disqualified! We all know that if McLaren had ran there fuel ilegally, they would be penalised.

If the FIA are going to impose rules they must impose them equally for every team or it will make F1 look like its as fixed as the wrestling.

This is a joke! What if McLaren ran illegal fuel and LH had come 5TH what would have happened? i feel he would be disqualified. Therefore so should BMW and Williams. Rules are rules!

This is a dangerous president! this means the rule must be abolished or next many more teams will break the same rule next season and use the BMW/Williams case as there defence. come on FIA this is your chance to show some polarity.
