Sorry Jeff S. I disagree with your comments.

So far we know:

1) Hamilton is fleeing the UK because he does not want to pay TAXES here!
2) Silverstone needs money to recover and be saved.
3) Hamilton benefits the most with having a British GP.
4) Hamilton's Taxes can be used to SAVE Silverstone

Shame on Hamilton for not paying taxes in the UK.

Taxes of Hamilton can be used SAVE Silverstone

Hamilton owes his British fans and his country at least that much!

Bernie's greed again!
I go to Silverstone several times a year, mainly working in the pits. Fabulous circuit, great facilities, positively cavernous pit garages. Perhaps Bernie would prefer Mallory or Knockhill ??!!

Got to about the 8th post and got fed up here. Why should the british government pay for a track? are people so stupid as to want money took from education and health care put into building a race track to be used once a year? come on! does mark lawrence have any idea about the tax system aswell? lewis living here wouldn't make a blind bit of difference as all taxes are thrown into one big budget and divided out, so we're back to the government taking from health care etc. bernie keeps on with this as he doesn't want a british gp, its that simple. he wants to go somewhere more financially rewarding for himself.

One more thing, for those who think silverstone is a poor circuit, i have one question. Where else in the world can you see F1 cars travelling at 211 km/h almost sideways. The maggots and beckets section of silverstone is one of the best peices of track ever created!

DON'T FEED THE TROLL! 'Mark Lawrenson' has been spouting his drivel for the last week, and had at least five different names in that period too (a sign of a proper troll)

In the 1980's K.Rosberg did a qualifying lap of 160mph at Silverstone!!!
So why doesnt the Silverstone owners make the track, the fastest and scariest track in the world.Add some excitement ,instead of chicane city

This is not an easy one to sort out. BRDC don't have enough money to do the job because they have to pay so much to Bernie to run his circus at Silverstone. Of course the British GP must remain. Of course taxpayers money shouldn't be used, for what is a niche sport. It's not even cutting edge anymore with all the restrictions. Of course it isn't as good as some of the new tracks. It never will be unless it is totally torn down and rebuilt, and that's not going to happen. Bernie as a brit should be supporting the thing more, rather than slagging it off. But he can see getting more money elsewhere, so he slags it off, threatens to take the race elsewhere. Its only posturing before negotiations
