Not a great shock, it has been the worst kept secret in F1.
Renault being found guilty of spying & then let off, then FA signing for Renault.
Makes you wonder what sort of relationship, or if a deal, was made betwen Briatore, MM, BE & the FIA.
Hope Heiki gets the Mclaren seat, & shows that he is as good a drive as Briatore doesn't think he is.

As long as FA completely forgets about 07 and races the way we're used to seeing him race then i expect he will wipe the floor with Ferrari and any other top team next year.

It was always going to happen wasnt it?? Good luck to him and hopefully he helps develop a car that can put RD and his wee bairn Hamilton in their place. Alonso and the Regie guys seem to fit well together. Feel for Heiki though, he did a great job in a below par car last year...hopefully he'll get the Mclaren drive and be allowed to race Hamilton fair and square...

this should be a laugh,i can't see the piquet's letting alonso or renault for that matter walk all over them.
in signing nelson piquet junior they'll also get nelson piquet senior in the renault garage and with his latin temprament i can see fireworks at renault next year.

i think definately out of the frying pan and into the fire for alonso.
