Where now for Heikki?

I know he is well respected as a tester/developer but as a McLaren fan I wouldn't want Pedro in a race seat. He was significantly slower than Kimi in 2006 (which admitedly may suit the whole Lewis favouritism thing) and lets not forget he was heavily involved in 'Ferrarigate'. I would love to see Lewis & Heikki in a young and exciting, but admitedly inexperienced team, with Pedro providing the experience from behind the scenes.

Hope he goes to Mclaren just so he has a reasonable drive, would be a waste of talent if he wasnt in a good car for next year...shame he'd be put in with Hamilton though, as RD is doing his "he's my favourite" thing with him....Mika, Kimi and now Hamilton....anybody else in the team will be nothing more than what Rubens was to MS

We know the Pedro De La Rosa will be driving for McLaren next year. Fact.

That leaves Heikki (who I believe is the better driver than Hamilton) out in the cold unfairly. But Pedro is slow.

Next year Ferrari will have a fast car and fast drivers, BMW will have a faster car than 2007 and two mega talented drivers. McLaren will have Hamilton and a slow Pedro.
Will they win the constructors champions with Pedro?

In a nutshell... NO!

which is precisely why i think kovalainen will join mclaren. in my view, they dont have another fast choice. mclaren have to face the fact that they wont win by only supporting one driver. hamilton has championship winning potential, he has proved that but so does heikki whereas pedro does not.

lee, dont forget renault and honda. i expect them to be just behind ferrari, mclaren and bmw like in the early 2000's when bmw were with williams. in 09, honda, renault and red bull will contend for the title. but for now, f1 will be split into 4 or 5 groups. but in 08, if mclaren sign pedro, they will struggle to keep up and could fall into the clutches of renault and honda

How you know for a fact that Pedro drive for McLaren next year?

You must have seen the contract, I 'spect. How much is he to be paid?

And yes, obvious that Heikki is better driver than Lewis, he showed that in all the lower formula. Fact. Can you supply these fools with the details so they understand too.

No doubt he is a good driver, hard to assess how good, as the R27 was not the best of cars, in any case there is in my opinion too much that has happened between Renault and Mclaren for Heikki to go there
