Where now for Heikki?

I know he is well respected as a tester/developer but as a McLaren fan I wouldn't want Pedro in a race seat. He was significantly slower than Kimi in 2006 (which admitedly may suit the whole Lewis favouritism thing) and lets not forget he was heavily involved in 'Ferrarigate'. I would love to see Lewis & Heikki in a young and exciting, but admitedly inexperienced team, with Pedro providing the experience from behind the scenes.

To McLaren

They need him if they are to have any chance of winning the Contructor's title as well as the WDC.

Who beat MS at the Race of Champions a few years back in identical Ferraris? That makes him quick enough doesn't it?

I love to see Heikki drives in McClaren. It would be interesting to see how he can perform in a decent car.

But I feel it's unlikely. When Alonso was linked to Renault at early stage, Heikki clearly stated that he didn't want to be in No.2's seat.

Contrary to what is told by McClaren, the one who they're looking for is, clear No.2 driver devoting to Hamilton. And Pedro just waited too long to drive & become a regular F1 driver.

Pedro will be just happy to be there not attacking on Hamilton at all. That's what McClaren want and what I'm afraid of.

I also expect McClaren to sign Pedro up as their no. 2 driver. I would love to see Heikki get the seat however, because it would be fantastic to watch the expression on Ron Dennis's face as when Heikki beats Hamilton on race day!

Mika, those are the exact reason why, if I were Heikki, I would go to McLaren. Renault threw me out because they didn't want me hassling FA, go to McLaren and show them what they lost.

Only choise for Mc Laren's second place is Heikki Kovalainen! He is fast, capable of winning races, young and will have many driving years stil to go! It would be really odd decision to take someone else - especially Pedro de la Rosa who is old and not enough fast. In addition, Heikki can behave outside Mc Laren office as well so no problem at all! Hopefully we will see soon Mc Laren's announcement for taking Heikki!
