Heikki: "Lewis will have a bit of an advantage."

Translation....

Heikki: "I was given the TEAM ORDERS a few days back. Lewis is number 1 at mclaren and I cannot compete with him on the track under any circumstances."

Shame to see a talent like Heikki become a number 2 to Lewis. What a waste!

F1 » Heikki: Lewis will have a bit of an advantage

McLaren new boy admits he will be on back-foot - at least early on.

ah come on rohit, Heikki knows he's up against it with lewis and hes just getting a couple of excuses in early if he performs weakly. remember Lewis beat him fair and square in 06 in GP2.

I dont think his remarks have anything to do with what your suggesting.

Heikki should do what Hamilton did last year and that is to out qualify your team mate, then ride of into the distance, simple.
You seem to forget ,last year ,Hamilton was told to stay behind Alonso at Monaco Gp when clearly faster.

Lewis wont actually be "Number 1" as such - they will have equal equipment etc. As always at McLaren though one driver will be the favoured one (Prost, Senna, Hakkinen, Raikkonen, Hamilton) - it will be up to Heikki to make himself that person. Sure, Lewis has technically been there for years but so had Prost when Senna arrived.

To be honest though, I think Lewis will wipe the floor with him - although I suspect both drivers will struggle to match McLaren's 2007 form.

Nick,

Hamilton never beat Heikki in GP2...
Heikki was beaten in 2005 by Nico Rosberg
Hamilton won the GP2 championship in 2006 by beating Piquet Jr.

This is a typical comment from a Hamilton Moppet Fan who makes up facts to support Hamilton. Such made up facts make any other point you make null and void.

Heikki is making excuses for the simple reason he has been told... "you are number 2 to Hamilton".
Shame to see such talent go to waste at mclaren!

At least he knows the pecking order. It took forever for that dumba** Alonso to get with the program. If FA had listened to the group earlier Lewis would have had the championship locked last year. It's important in F1 to realize that your job is the number 2 and to act as such.. Maybe he should get in touch with Massa and compare notes with the ultimate #2 driver.

Rohit, clearly you are another one of those Lewis Hater fans. And if you want to talk about facts. McLaren doesn't do the favorite driver thing like the other teams. Why do you think there is always controversy amongst their drivers. Do you even follow F1. It's OK to be a Lewis hater, but at least tell the truth. Hell, I'd be mad too if some rookie came in out of nowhere and just wiped the floor will all but one driver. Ok, wiping the floor was a bit fanboyish but you know what I mean. So I take it back. Be fair man. Favoritism is found at Ferrari and clearly at Renault. Heikii has more of a shot than the did before. Mclaren would at least let him compete with his teammate.

Mention Hamilton or Mclaren or even F1 and you always get the same things said, over and over again…..

But like George said, what do you think all the fuss between Alonso and Hamilton was about this season? Mclaren don't do the number 1 and number 2 driver thing, surely people should have learnt this already, selective memory or wild conspiracy memory I guess.

..let the mentals repeat their battle cry.

I find it funny how people who are English would prefer a Finn rather than a very very good British driver to take the title. Because Hamilton has shown that he is stupidly good at racing an F1 car.

Robert, the dumb**s is actually you, because you still do not comprehend why Ham is the first loser: in the last 2 races ML strategy was to give advantage to LH over his closest rival, who happened to be in the same team, FA was screwed by the team before rases even started, Ham knew that, so if he can't beat FA in this conditions he did not deserved title in his own mind, that's why he tried to overtake him, to prove to him self that he is better, but obviosely he is not, everybody in the paddock knows that, he would have no respect as a WDC.
