I really do hope Lewis does not take this racial abuse and turn into anger. Its realy a shame racism exist''s but it does and the only we can stop it is to not let it change us. I don''t think Spain is a racist country but it has it''s fair share of racist individuals just like any other country.

Opinions are like a$$h0les ... everybody has one!
Irresponsible reporting to go on 1 fans opinion & view on things, especially considering it is such an emotionally charged issue.
'Mr Dann' could just be another spotlight hungry fool looking for his name in lights, & Crash.net has just afforded him that. Broken telephone reporting? Does he hav time stamped video footage of the entire sequence of events to prove his claims?

Quoting and publishing what a Bristish fan had to say about action taken by Spanish officials about this incident is what might be called another try to wind up further post on this matter. I hope that the people at crash.net are not wind up merchants as some are prone to say in these posts.

I think that this topic is "well past its use by date", and should be dropped.

Everyone has agreed that Racism and Racist taunts are despicable and deplorable.
Avoiding them in every venue against any sportsmen, official or association, when so many thousands of spectators attend such events is near impossible.

Crash.net please give us something technical to write and comment about.

I find it reprehensible the actions publicly shown by these so called F1 fans to the world in general. What I find even more confusing is that their actions are criminal actions in Spain, as well as most other European countries. I would like to know whether they have been charged for their racial abuse by the Spanish authorities, if not why not? It is not good enough to just evict them from the racetrack, they have to be seen to be punished for their disgusting behaviour at our sports venues or the F1 track officials have no chance of stopping this happening anywhere in F1

Trevor, there is a big difference in having a law and actually enforcing it.

I think that it was useful to have another slant on the propaganda that was put out by the circuit, who were probably slow to act as they didn't see it as a major problem. (Speculation on my part) They put up barriers to stop missiles, but barriers do not stop the verbal abuse. I think they did the minimum that they could get away with.

They only said that they would prosecute the people if they, themselves, received sanctions from the FIA. Kinda shows you where their thinking is at.

I don't think the majority of race fans in Spain should be punished for the crimes of a few. Just punish those involved, NOW!

When I was at circuit Montmeló Circuit de Catalunya in '04 or '05 at the end of the Motogp race, while everyone was leaving calmly with a few fans staying back to look at the circuit, a Grey Van stopped suddenly from which about 5 guards jumped out that started shooting randomly rubber bullets at the crowd I was in. A few got hit...

I couldn't believe my eyes, and I get mad whenever I think about the sick violence that the circuit-management deployed for NO reason whatsoever at the time.

When I see how they managed the F1-story and that Fernando Alonso is UNABLE to post at least ONE single comment on what happened on HIS behalf, I wonder what the Spanish have in mind...

I have the impression that the "Catalunian" side of Spain thinks it is "More" spanish and displays a comparable pride as the island of "Corsica".

I could be wrong, but I gues they "just" attacked the "typical" aspect of Hamilton to hurt him bluntly in a weak spot. I'm sure they would have done it to anyone in another way to show their admiration of THEIR Alonso and in Torero like spanish style they were blind to the perception of others.

Alonso is the wimp that is unable to at least show he's morally correct. With his deep silence he has just worsened the situation.

Thank you Alonso...we'll never forget you for your bluntness
