A carnival? That is a poor excuse.
To do what they did and paint them selves another colour and put on a sign/clothing saying Lewis''s familly is racist!
And if that is not enough then why were they shouting abuse that was racist/nasty at Lewis Hamilton for?

Granted that there are some considerable cultral differences between Britan & Spain regarding racial attitudes, etc, and maybe no racial abuse was intended, however,I feel that, if it is true that the circuit officials allowed the people responsible for this incident to enter the circuit in their "Costumes", then they were negligent in their responsibilities. They should have, acted in a more cautious manner to prevent this incident from happening in the first place, as it puts all the spanish people in a bad light around the world which they do not deserve.
Maybe this incident will benefit the sport in the long run as the F1 track officials will be stricter in policing of events

This is what i thought all along. I totally believe him. Its just the media yet again blowing everything out of proportion, and twisting things around to get a story, and a big one in this instance. People nowadays are so stupid they just look straight passed it, and believe everything and anything the media say. yes spain has had its run ins over racism, and its still a problem, but lots of people dress up to go to these kind of events, and in this case, hamilton happens to be black, so anyone wanting to dress up as hamilton, whether it be to a race or a costume party, is going to paint their faces black. I would.

and to ferret, i'd like to know how you know it was these people in the fancy dress who were shouting the racist comments? i beleive they were just standing there in the crowd. The racist comments are awful, and those people involved are the real culprits. I still cant believe that you people think that by painting your face black to represent a black man is being racist! The blind stupidity on this site is amazing.

They "just" attacked the "typical" aspect of Hamilton to hurt him bluntly in a weak spot. I'm sure they would have done it to anyone in another way to show their admiration of THEIR Alonso and in "Torero like spanish" style they were just blind to the perception of others and how it could interpreted : Racism is easily critisised and indefendable. Don't take it out of context though.

Alonso is the WIMP that is unable to at least show he's morally correct. With his deep silence he has just worsened the situation.

First and foremost thank you crash.net for proving me right, I said exactly what this chap had said about carnival.
Second I totally agree with aaron.
I said days ago in other posts, that as it was carnival these chaps tried to satire those that have been backing Lewis in the Mclaren dispute with Alonso.
These four guys were portraying 1)Max Mosley in the Bernie wig and dark glasses, 2) Bernie Ecclesstone in the Bernie wig and heavy specs, 3) Smooth face in the old woman wig was Ron and the other in the women wig was Anthony Hamilton. Why the women wigs? Easy, because RD & AH were portrayed as two old women which is what they seemed to be last season.

......were not portrayed ot intended to be portrayed.
Any insults or taunts uttered by other spectators were wrong, but if the FIA or track officials were not expecting them in the aftermat of last year than every one had his head under a rock or burried in the sand.

As I said if one wears his ethnic origin or colour as a mill around his neck, then he will be demonstrating a dose of inferiority complex and defaulting on his family and origin of which he should be proud.

I wish that the Sun or other tabloids would stop making such an ado about nothing, knowing how gullible their readers are.

aaron, i know where you are coming from, but we are all entitled to our opinions.
But none of us have seen any video footage or pics of these poeple doing what they did.
Unless you you know where anywhere like youtube that may have some footage of these events.
I do not like racists,and i know that small amount of poeple who are racist amoungst ordinary people who are not , give everyone a bad name they do not deserve!
I agree its ok for people to have fun and so on, but its they way they went about doing it i did not like!

And make up your own minds!

Reno what the hell are you talking about. You say the sun made a do about nothing, i think you are a very sad person who just hates the british. You think you know everthing because you have got so much time on your hands you can just reserch all day to make yourself look more intelegent. The sun reported on the racial rants by the spanish fans, they did not say that the people dressed up were the ones throwing the insults. Aaron please go on the sun's website and read the artical again and then come on here and state the fact's. I don't understand why people who hate the british always come on a british forum. Just proves we have better websites than you lot have. Stop moaning, state facts.
