Having seen some of the improvements being made to Brands Hatch over the winter, i must admit that to bring Brands upto F1 standard would take years & alot of money.. AND you know who will end up paying the price.. It wont be Good Old Uncle Bernie..!!!!!

Cheers David Tasker.
Alot of things could happen there. Bernie should over see all the work is done to his satisfaction. But no doubt he will still say it is not good enough to his liking?! I think he just wants away with silverstone.
There is alot of new tracks being used in F1 but i think they are boring!
Yet there alot of racing tracks in the uk, but they are only good for club racing/ bsbk/touring cars.
Only Donington park and Brands Hatch are the only other international circuits we have in the uk.
I would love to see F1 go to Brands hatch if silverstone went out of the window?
But some how i cannot see Brands Hatch getting it in the future! I think Brands Hatch is exciting place!

If this does actually happen, I think it is about time. We need a Grand Prix with the large contribution that British motorposrt makes to thie economy (£5billion a year) and if we want to continue to have a Grand Prix for the foreesable future then these improvements MUST be carried out otherwise we the fans will lose out.

David - that is an interesting concept. I imagine that it would be bit difficult to create enough run-off for the last corner leading to the pit straight though. There would be a bit of a problem at Bridge too.

Nicely said Ferret..!!!
Going along those lines... Would it not be feasable, IF, Silverstone is to have money spent on it, to alter the run off areas etc, so that F1 could be run Anti-clockwise?
Just a thought..

If silverstone is going to have big improvements made to it, then Bernie had better guarentee that Formula one will stay at silverstone for a very long time! Or it would be a waste of time money otherwise!

Yeah, the F1 at Cadwell remark was totally impossible. And I'm sure that even if they did widen the track, it would loose its charm.

Besides, I tried taking an F1 round Cadwell on rFactor and it aint happening!!!!

That'll do as long as King Bernie is Happy. What a waste of money for something that aint broke. It be nice if he put his hand in his pocket and fix it! I'm sure his fee will rise next season too. He keeps squeezing and banging those coffin nails in.

Great, another gin palace for the BRDC while those paying punters get to watch from the windswept and wet scaffolding stands yet again.

Andy - I largely agree with you, Silverstone is the only UK circuit that can host an F1 race. If the UK government can support the Olympics then it should support the further development of Silverstone. But don't hold your breath, they won't. Global warming and all that rubbish. But that wont stop the hypocritical ministers turning up to enjoy Bernie's hospitality at this years race.
You were joking about Cadwell? It's a great bike circuit, but F1? The cars are wider than the Cadwell track!
