Jackie, i normally agree with you, but STFU.

Timo Glocks accident wasnt caused by not having traction control.
Coulthard and Massa''s accident wasnt casued by not having traction control.

In fact... NONE of the accidents were caused by not having TC.

Martin Brundle said this would happen...

interlocking wheels is one of the hazards of open wheel racing, nobody wants to see injury or death and I don''t see lack of TC making that any safer !! If JYS had his way why don''t the circuits put tram lines all around the track with crossover points then the teams can put a yacht-type centreboard under the car and we can call it scalextrix.

I think Jackie is somewhat correct in saying that Lewis should join the GPDA. Was a bit surprised when I heard he turned them down - as arguably F1's new biggest star it's important to have him there.

I think the title of this article is a little missleading (as are most headlines on crash.net). JYS doesn't actually state that the lack of traction control will cause deaths. What he seems to be getting accross is that it will cause more accidents, which is a fair point as it makes driving harder. And the main point he is making is that if drivers like Hamilton and Raikkonen are complacent enough about the possibility of some of these accidents resulting in fatalities that they don't wish to be involved in the GPDA then there is something wrong. Driver pressure on the authorities is what often results in a safer environment for the drivers to have "safe" crashes (moving of barriers etc)

Ok fair point, but im going to be picky and go back to February for my response.

If Ferrari hadnt put Schumacher in the car ahead of Massa, then Massa would have 70 laps more experience without Traction Control, therefore wouldnt have made the mistake :P

I agree on most of the things C Bland said on the story being a bit misleading. I think JYS is trying to get across that a unified GPDA with its biggest stars has some effect and whether motorsport is risky or not the chance of injury should be minimized and thats what JYS has been campaigning for years. Timo Glocks accident went the good way on Sunday but it couldve been so much worse had the car landed upside down into the barrier. Traction Control may not be at fault in all the accidents but removing aids has increased the chance of driver error(which i like btw) and maybe JYS is speculating on that. Lets hope we continue to have a safe and enjoyable season.
