Ghost - my disagreement with you post was regarding your statement that these drivers don't have the "technical knowhow or skill". There are a very limited number of seats available in F1, hence settling for the next best thing. This does not mean that there are only 22 drivers in world capable of driving well in F1. The trend lately has been to give open seats to a young driver over an experienced driver.

On Vettel how many championships does he have in any series? So far Bourdais is doing much better than him so I don't know how you can say he is much much better. Vettetl seems to be getting worse not better.

Mark, the mark of a good driver isn't necessarily how well he's done in a feeder series.
Take Kimi. The guy came straight from Formula Renault into F1 and was given a provisional superlicense (after qualifying for it) only on the basis of Peter Sauber's word. He never went into GP2, and now he's a world champion.

Yes, Bourdais is doing better than Vettel right now, but that's because Vettel has had the most unbelievably bad luck so far this season.

But you said it youreslf ghost.
Bad luck caused by not qualifying high enough on the grid.
Did he ever outqualified Bourdais so far?
And champcar may or may not be a 2nd rate serie, Bourdais TOTALLY dominated it, and not just for some short amount of time.
As far as i'm concerned, looking at past achivment and actual performance, Bourdais do seem to have the upper hand on Vettel.
Just hope the german find a way to shake up that bad luck of his back, then we will have a clearer picture of who is the best of the Seb.

LOL!!!
With that Seb thing, i completly forgot i wanted to comment on Danica.
I do hope that she got a ride in F1, but coming from an almost exclusively oval serie, it may prove very difficult.
What other have said about trying to get a feel of GP2 first do seem to be the best way to circumvent this problem.
But on what Button said, i'm thinking of something. Look at how small those cocpit are, the driver got their arms very close to their bodies. Could a woman boob really get in the way? I'm wondering. Those car had been designed with male physionomy in mind, can a woman fit in and feel comfortable?

Danica in F1 is laughable at best. She would be a mid-pack driver even in GP2. She has never been truly competetive on a road course. Hell, Motegi is her first win in anything other than a kart. And no, I do not count that silly celebrity race toward anything. She is merely average.

About the boops problem: Milka Duno fits in a IRL car! So i think there is no "boops problem". And otherwise if i was a team boss, i'll give her any size of ****pit she wants....In a third car as a test driver! Just for fun! :p

in response to Marks earlier comment id like to point out that JV was not that good at setting up a car. For proof, please watch Estoril 1997.

to Ghost,
do you remenber 2001 and 2003? wasn´t JPM who give MS a run for his money??? he was the only one who dared (and passed) MS several times... yes, he lost out in 2003, but sure Williams and the FIA helped to ruin his run for the championship.

Ed, I originally liked JPM. He was quick, a straight talker, and didn't seem intimidated by anyone or anything. But where was the consistency? In F1, you have to be quick AND consistent, merely having one of those qualities isn't enough.

JPM was capable of the odd burst of speed and ba||sy overtaking maneuver, but that's about it. He couldn't sustain it. I got the impression that he was one of those guys who would make a move that depended too heavily on the other guy getting out of the way.
Very rarely did he make a CLEAN move that didn't need evasive maneuvers by the guy he was making the move on.

And again - consistency. He just didn't have it.
