F1 » Brawn: Don't rule out Alonso Ferrari switch

Don't write off possibility of Spaniard jumping ship to Maranello in 2009, former Ferrari technical director and now Honda team chief asserts - and if they don't want him, we'll have him.

Yes but its true.
Button is too confortable and Rubens by then would probably (and sadly) be out of the picture. When the car starts to deliver Button will probably be Number 2 and a driver strong like Alonso would ben recruitedt to give no-nonsense results.

After a dodgy start to the season, both Ferrari drivers seem to have now settled down and are doing a reasonably good job with the best car on the grid, tested and developed by Michael Schumacher.
McLaren, BMW-Sauber and Toyota are three teams who have sky high budgets but the development of these teams is stunted due to the lack of a top notch development driver.
I am not talking here about raw speed, or sheer aggression when racing, but someone that can develop the car race by race to be just that step in fron of the competition.

It took 2 years for Ross and Michael to get Ferrari on a winning streak of five WDC's and CC's in a row, so the guy knows what he is talking about when......

I see NR or RK driving for him one day. In particular the Pole is really intriguing, but the way BMW's are developing why would he leave? On the other hand, It's a great choice for Fernando.

.... he said that Ferrari have not in reality closed the door on Fernando.
Brawn goes on to state that at present there are only two or three drivers that stand out from the rest and that Fernando is one of them.
Others think that in development, setup and car improvement Fernando is the present number 1 driver, and there is no doubt that Honda will be after him should they start to make headway with their designs.
McLaren are now paying for their follies for letting the British media control the teams decisions last year and are now paying the consequencies by being second stringers to Ferrari.
BMW and Toyota can only dream of the ultimate success for the moment, neither Kubica.....

.......Heidfeld or Trulli are WDC material, and McLaren can only dream to get there again after 8 long years if they have a development race driver of the calibre of either Michael ot Fernando, both of whom are definetely not available to them.

It seems that Ross Brawn is already working on a winning strategy for Honda for the near future. Good luck to him.

It's about time someone gave FA his dues he took renault to 2 WC and after he left, renault went belly-up. I hope honda gets him in '09 i.e. if honda has made the improvements that FA yearns for by then. It's a pity that such a fine driver has to rot another year w/o realizing his full potential.

Reno i have worked out why you type so much on here. It is because nobody can hear you talk because your head is to far up Alonso's backside.

Ralf registered, I don't think that you can work out in which hole you have to use your toilet paper, but by the way you write and attack others personally I would think that you use it on your face.
Can't you post something remotely intelligent for a change?
Can't you comment on the topic in hand maybe you will teach us something?

Registered RALF, you are the only genius with an IQ of 10 on this forum, brains aren't everything, in fact in your case they are absolutely nothing. I don't know what makes you so dumb but it does really work.
When are you going to take an interest in F1, and enlighten us with your knowledge, rather that continue to give this site a bad name by your presistent personal attack on others.

Reno SP, spot on as usual, I totally agree with your statement that McLaren, BMW and Toyota although they are big spenders lack drastically in the real development sector. They can build good cars and engines but the fine tuning touch of a Shumacher or an Alonso is missing.
