Ok Crash team, pay attention. This sensationalism in your writing and reporting is doing you no favors. Kimi was talking about that one incident not qualifying in general. Why are you lying to sell a snippet?

considering when he was with Mclaren,2005 it was all poles and quite good in the races, maybe the new rules on traction has affected him more than Massa, or Massa has simply got better

as big a kimi fan as i am i really do think that he has lost his edge since leaving mclaren!!!!

It's testament to how fast Kimi was at McLaren that he can win a championship last year and lead this year without looking right at the top of his game.

In 2005 his lap times to qualify on pole (before the customary 10-place grid penalty from Mercedes), despite usually having 10 laps extra fuel on board was phenomenal!

I think Kimi's qualifying performances has more to do with Bridgestone tyres, the way the Ferrari is designed and how Kimi's driving style affect those issues. Maclaren has always been good qualifying cars that can heat up tyres fast enough.

Therefore I think the hole in the nose was partly designed to improve Kimi's qualifying, but of course Ferrari cant use the nose at all the tracks. Kimi's qualifying for Turkey wasn't that bad he was 0.3 sec behind Massa, fuel corrected it is around the same performance wise. The season is still long, we will see what happens.

Make no mistakes about this one. Kimi is a very down to earth driver. He's not the type who would draw attention to himself needlessly. He's just been modest here.

qualifying just isn't qualifying anymore. kimi prefers a heavier car so he wont win too many poles. the only time he got pole on heavy fuel was spain and he was dominant there. everyone knows if qualifying was like it was a decade ago, (12 flyers), then kimi will have cleaned up by now.

Kimi has always preferred 2-4 laps going heavier in qualifying, and that always affects his quali pace. Going back to his Macca days in 2005, he was almost always fueled heavier than his teammate and both the Renaults. Despite this, he took a ton of poles.
I agree with Melanie - Kimi's always preferred the Michelins to the Bridgestones. He can be blindingly quick in the race, but on the short qualy stint he needs to make it work better.
Massa may have outdone him 4-1 so far this season, but fuel corrected, Kimi's always set almost the identical time. He needs to be more aggressive with fuel strategy and qualify higher.
