Kubica certainly still has a chance if he keeps doing what's he's doing till the last race of the season. While Ferrari and McLaren beat each other up he could easily sneek through the cracks and win.
On the other hand Heidfeld will be back in about 6th or lower if he keeps doing what he's doing. I still find it hard to beleive a guy with his experience and F1 cred can't get his tyres working for so long and still uses that his excuse. I'd be embarrassed if I was Nick. Personally in all these years I've never seen him drive really fast(on the edge) and blow me away. To me he's to clinical and perfect on paper but lacks the mongeral fighting spirit required to really win. Great Test Driver!

i was acknowledging that kubica surprised me as i knew little of his background. when his bosses feel that he has little chance THIS YEAR of WDC, i still tend to agree as the Beemer needs to prove itself as a race winner before it can claim WDC or CC. however if the other contenders fall by the wayside, then RK has an outside chance THIS YEAR.

somehow it's always about the NEXT year for bmw. kubica is right up in the standings so i wouldn't play down his chances that much. it was also unrealistic for KR to snatch the crown last year so anything can happen.

"better driver than originally considered to be"? where have you lived rich, expectations about RK were always since he came in very high. Another issue is if he can live up to those original expectations.

nice to see realistic and honest comments on this site. BMW have done very well and are progressing in acordance with their strategy. kubica is a better driver than originally considered to be. it is a pity that nick has suffered problems, otherwise BMW would be right up there as constructors. if next year sees their progress being maintained, then BMW and one or both of their drivers would be potential champions. BMW make no big claims and do not make whinging excuses. pity others cannot follow their lead!
