How is saying a country got 'more votes' a derogatory statement?
(Maybe in Blair/Brown's Britain - but not in reality).

Nothing put a cheap shot at trying to play the race card.

Automobile Association of Kenya - thinks this is multi cultural UK where the minority dictates? No this is F1!

God I didnt even know they had a car racing fraternity over there.
I thought the only vehicles they had were open top Land Rover carrying either tourists or troops !

Ecclestone made a good point. It's not demeaning unless Kenya start hosting grands prix, so until then Spain and Monaco et al's opinion will be more worthy on a matter such as this.

erm Boo, the FIA is supposed to control all forms of motorsport not just F1 - although I'll forgive you for thinking so based on Max's reign. Kenya has hosted rounds of the WRC so their comments must be taken in context of motorsport as a whole & in response to Bernie's comments with regards the FIA vote ... GP's have nothing to do with this.

& Theo ... I've travelled to Kyalami for WSBK & Phakisa for MotoGP races, & both tracks / facilities were world class ... better than the circuit hosting this weekends GP, which could look like a road more suited to those open Land Rovers by the end of the race.

Actually the FIA represents motoring in all forms, motorsport might be the thing most people see but there are more clubs (and votes) from non motorsport than motorsport organisations, just look at the UK for an example of the affiliates, 8 in total only one of which is motorsport.

just goes to show how ignorant some poeple are of the real functions of the fia (THEO), which is why bernie and he's group would like fool everyone into thinking that its an easy job that can be done by any tom, **** and theo, sorry bout that mate....

and besides ive been to kenya and i don't think they (kenya) would like to host an F1 event ayway, kyalami was good enough, but oh yes bernie had to axe that one as well talk about arrogance of power im sure the guy thinks he's the ceasar of motor sport, anyway im glad max stayed, what he does in his own private time is he's own business doesnt mean the man suddenly forgot how to do he's job, but bernie should be more careful when he makes those off the cuff remarks he is known to make, not everyone lives in bernie's rome

I think the FIA does a fantastic job in the whole all over the world and the only thing they've got wrong really is keep Mosely in employment. I'm just comparing worth between the opinion of an African nation to that of a European one that maybe holds a grand prix and has a far greater population to represent (USA, Japan and Germany in particular).

Although I don't disagree that Kenya etc deserve a say and a vote, I just wonder if it's right that Mosely gets to stay when he is kept in by smaller automobile clubs, when the larger clubs are restricted by the fact that there are fewer of them.

that's a fair point to make but the very existence of the fia is based on auto clubs from 222 countries represented at the fia, that was the very foundation from which motor sport took place, in the 70's and 80's there was a much truer representation of motors sport with almost every continent holding a major event, in africa there was the east african rally which suprisingly greats like jean todd took part in, so the fact that f1 is the most notable sport in the fia calendar doesn't make it open to the vote of the bigger clubs only as the bigger clubs also get to vote on matters that affect the smaller clubs, the way i see it its bernie's team that didnt work hard enough to lobby

the smaller clubs, in a democracy that's what you do, you try and get as many votes from everyone as possible big or small, just look at the american race for the white house the little guys also count....and if they dispute it then they refuse the democratic way and agree to have a group of guys who will work to serve their own interest, in the end i think the ruling was fair and the margin of victory was to wide to dispute
