For got to mention since when has Pikey been a race??? I've certainly never seen it on any forms I've had to fill in! 'what ethnic origin would you class youself as ?,
A)Caucasian, B)afro-carribean, C)asian, or D).........Pikey???'

tho to confused comment, just cos these people are white and in construction(and construction workers arent gypsies), doesnt mean they cant be victims of racial abuse.

BUT in this case Brundle did nothing wrong at all, except make a light hearted joke.

While in this case there is no racism, I think you miss the point of racial comments oksomydancingisbad.

For example your not going to find a 6 letter word beginning with N or a four letter word beginning with S under ethnic origin are you. Yet both a very much racist words.

pikey is a word a lot of people use everyday and someone shouldnt get offended by it

i dont think itv should say sorry unless loads of pikey's call in and complain...yet no pikey's have complained and they've already said sorry ! wtf ...its those equality loonys again,wanting apologies from people who have'nt offended anyone...if you know what i'm getting at ????

I think something has been lost in translation here, how on earth is Brundle in hot water for saying that, when James Allen can make some atrocious comments about Kubica is beyond me. The "Brad Pitt" line was uncalled for and offensive, and other personal highlight was when he compared Kubica to some "chewing gum on the sole of your shoe".

Seriously, the man is a moron. I don't know how he has managed to keep his place alongside Martin. And if he tells me ONE more time what the white stripe on the tyre is for, I will be forced to write another sarcastic email to ITV, thanking them for the insider information.

To be honist i cant see the point of them apologising, everyone will be racist at one point. And i do thing its going over the top now with racial rights.... not saying its ok but it''s not just gonna breeze away..... If it was an issue saying if Brundle called one of the track marshells the N word... then I would agree that he''d get the sack and get in alot of trouble.

To me, this isnt so much of an issue, its more of a local racial issue, its almost the same here in the Channel Islands, Jersey people call Guernsey People Donkeys (thus the picture of the donkey on priulx''s helmet), then the Guernsey''s call Jersey''s Crappos. To me its one of those issues.. they think its harsher, o well.

loads of my mates live in caravans,they like the term pikey,none of them are offended by it so who made itv apologise , some do gooder who's never met a pikey , see,this is the problem with the world today,i'm welsh and get called a sheep shagger all the time,its just words , i hate racism,ageism,sexism and all the other ism's but when no one's been offended i think its quite funny,and we could all do with a laugh...i think james allen should say sorry for his idiotic remarks about robert,who just happened win a bloody f1 race.... and i agree with sarah l about the inane and patronising way he treats us viewers...yes james we know these things already you clown...love martin though..........
