F1 » Danica Patrick 'will' get F1 test

Robsy, most in jest ... not malicious.

If theyre going to give Danica a test, then they must give all the drivers above her in the IRL championship a shot too ... until then, she's jumping the queue as promo exercise or as window dressing. & she really does need to come down to earth a little.

I've never understood why there have been so few woman drivers at the top level, especially in single seaters. Sex should make little difference because the cars are not particularly physical to drive ... unlike touring cars.
They seem to be around in karting & then not go further.

Personally i have no problem with any female racing drivers being in F1 or getting test sessions with F1 teams, my only problem is that i believe they, as with the male drivers, should have to earn it.

One victory in Indycar doesn't justify a F1 test, i think that if she was challenging for victory and championships regularly then it may be a different story, but atm if they give her the test it will all be a shallow pr exercise.

outside of F1, ellen lohr, michelle mouton, and even pat moss, showed that they could take on the men on equal terms. used to have regard for danica, but her own use of sexual exloitation and her tantrums at indy 500 have lowered my opinion of her. she should be tested on her capabilities only , not on her marketability.

backbeat - do you realize how many current GP2 drivers have tested in F1 without winning a GP2 race? I believe that more than 15 have. Danica may not be the most deserving driver to get a test but surely her Indycar experience justifies such a test. The PR opportunity alone is enough reason. It is not a race seat!

Imagine how she would have reacted if Lewis had run into her. There would have been some Nascar style pit lane brawling. That alone would be worth the price of admission.

In 2007 the IRL ran 2 Street and 3 Natural Terrain Road Courses. Danica finished 8th at St. Pete., 11th at Watkins Glen, 6th at Sonoma, 5th at Mid Ohio and 2nd in Detroit. In every race Danica has finished on the lead lap. At the Glen Danica finished ahead of 5 other drivers on the lead lap including Scheckter.

Compare that to Catherine Legge who has finished 1 race in two full seasons on the lead lap and tell me she is more deserving of a test than Danicak
