The difference with Kimmi and Fred is that those two owe up to their mistakes, whereas Hamilton doesn't do it or sounds not honest when he does it.

Kimmi will say something like: "Ilostthecarcomingoutofthetunnel, brakesontoearly, simplylostitandcouldn'tavoidhittingSutil. Iamreallysorryforhim, myteam, etc."
Fred would say: "Yes I hit him, my mistake, stupid eh."

Whereas Hammy says something like: "Something went wrong? Oh you mean that little incident in the pits? I already forgot that. Don't know what happened we have to investigate what went wrong. I am like Senna and will be Champion this year, because I am better than all the others out there."

When LH fans wonder why people don´t like his... they know the answer but don´t see it:

It is because he is an ARROGANT, and people don´t like that type of person. AND because he speaks too much (much non sense especially)

That´s my view.

I'm glad to see that my previous comments has led to some good intelligent comments, whether you agree with my point of view or not. :)
I hope that this continues.
It makes a change from the majority of comments which tend to serve little purpose apart from what i could only classify as an equal to Bear Bating, and have little relevence to the topic. :?

JS says that Hamilton had built a substantial lead - am I very much mistaken, or he was THIRD behind Kimi and Kubica at the exit...

BTW: Kubica thanked Hamilton for choosing Kimi and not him... how literal should be the interpretation of this???

I do believe that Lewis is not that mature to be the worldchampion for the time being unless he is very much favored by fortune. Ron is too much overwhelmed with his driving superiority and forgot his experience with Juan Pablo. I think Ron is too starving for a champion and start losing his excellent logic in the race strategy.

IanK: "Everyone, the media, fans, teams,etc..., all talk about him as if he has been around F1 for years.Remember this is only Hamilton's 2nd year in F1. He is in an unenviable position, he is a talented driver, he's from an ethnic minority in the sport,& he came 2nd in his 1st year in F1, so he will inevitably be a focus of everyone's attention to what he does good or bad.
How many other drivers have been in this position, none that i can think of, can you?"

I think sir jackie has written a lot of sense. Hamilton does present himself as the super-cool , unflappable fighter pilot type and that is simply not the case. For heavens sake,he was still in a school uniform 5 years ago! He is not as mature as he makes out and he is going to make mistakes but he needs to do what grown ups do - own up to his mistakes.Thats the only way he will fulfill his potential.Otherwise he will just be another has been who makes lame excuses and actually believes them.I am disappointed with his behavior and I cannot believe his father would allow him to spout such drivel.
Who could possibly not be able to wait and start a race from at least 10th place, only Hamilton.

paulF - Why are you trying to compare him to a teenager? I realize he is immature but as an apparent supporter you are not making it any easier for him. He has been well groomed the Mclaren PR machine for years now. There are a lot fewer people sticking up for him this week than usual, so possibly his fan base is not entirely comfortable with the way he handled himself this weekend either.
