Basically you need look no further than some of the other manufacturers of similar standing and perhps even greater financial clout to Ultimate who have found the move up to F1 from junior formula crippling (Pacific, Simtek spring to mid immediately - great names destroyed by unrealistic goals). A great name Spyker was almost bankrupted last season requiring a rescue attempt from VM and Indian capital. Rushing on to the grid for 2009 would be a huge mistake (Lola Mastercard''s diabolical attempt shows the pitfalls of rushing on to the grid) and poor old Super Aguri.

It is one thing doing it in British F3 and doing it in F1. (although Stewart did a fantastic job). I would like to see Lotus make their recent threats over the years to return to F1 reality to re-establish a great name at the pinnacle of M/S

I admire the ambition of Barry Walsh and hope that his dream will become a reality one day, but now is too soon. (Ultimate have existed for 2 years and have one mechanic who has F1 experience according to the story).
Finally, I can not give any support to a project backed with Angolan capital with an obvious aim to fast track Angolan racer Ricardo Teixeira to the realms of F1 backmarker. There are much better drivers knocking on the door of F1

kiran, i agree with you totally. also they would have to have a factory with windtunnel, autoclave etc, to produce their own car. also if newspapers are to be believed, they art to put an irish driver, bernard devaney, in the car! the mind boggles!

I think there is a lot more to this story than meets the eye - otherwise I don't think it'd be getting the coverage it is getting. Me thinks there could be a manufacturer involved in the same way that Ultimate could be what Sauber is to BMW..?? If that makes sense...
