WhisperingWind, problem being, 25% of the grid is already from Germany and 40% of the grid is from two countries Germany/Brazil... A little more international blood perhaps?

Hiedfeld''s days are numbered and this will more than likely be his final year with BMW. Maybe the best option for everyone will be for Alonso and Heidfeld to swap seats for 2009 and a Alonso/Kubica combination will be formidable and spearhead BMW''s rise when all the new regulations come into force.

Somehow I don't think Doc Theissen will make a move "a la Villeneuve" this summer. Choice is limited. Can't put Klien in the car for the reminder of the season. Nick has the experience to bring in more points in the remaining races. However, as a team boss, he'd be shooting himself in the foot to say "Nick's days are numbered" so he could still replace him, but I expect he'll stay put until the end of the season, baring further mediocre sub-par performances compared to Kubica.

I dont think its "that' easy for Theissen to sack Hiedfeld .
Why ? Simply put, Hiedfeld is a german driver in a German outfit. Matters a lot for BMW who is competing in the cut-throat german auto industry. Given the nature of German national spirit, and with Schuey now no longer part of sport, BMW needs a German face.
More so, Germans need one of them in the top flight.

Not to mention the fact that not all would take it lightly that a German outfit chose a Pole over one of them. History has a small part to play here.

2009 start is almost definite for Nick, no matter how he performs in'08. Unless, Theissen happens to have his sights on a certain other German ( Vettel )!!!

I would be surprised to see Nick back at BMW next year. BMW's time has come and they are now giving Ferrari and Ronspeak something to worry about. And if he does get booted out of BMW he would surely still be in F1. Possibly at Honda or maybe Red Bull.
