I know why some people dont like him. He's a straight talking aussie, and when his car is breaking down every other race he lets it be known. I guess that bothers some people.

This year though he's happy, and if you read his interviews lately he's actually a really funny guy. Regardless of whether you like what he says, at least he speaks his mind and doesn't hold back, unlike most of the robots on the F1 grid these days.

I get a laugh out of his funny analogies lately, and it's great to see one of the most underrated talents in F1 having a decent car for once.

I'm fairly neutral on Webber - can't help thinking he's good, but no Alonso / Raikkonen. Perhaps more on a par with Trulli - great over a lap, but lacking that something extra on Sunday.

I doubt he's going to get the opportunity to step into a Ferrari or a Mclaren and RBR aren't exactly likely to lure one of the top 2 or 3 drivers for 2009, so this seems to makes sense for both sides.

If he does pair up with Vettel next year, I'm betting on MW to come out on top over a season.

Gaz, you're an idiot. Yamaha r1, you whinge more than a peeved Rossi fan.

RxRacer, your spot on. He is a straight talking, humorous guy. Most importantly, he can pedal an F1 seriously fast.

Mark, has gotten a reputation as a gun qualifier and not so good racer. When you have mechanical failures in literally 40% of your races and cant finish, it's hard for your racing efforts to shine.

This year with a proven & reliable car he is lifting the team and scoring very regular points. He is the 'best of the rest' as far as the points go.

Love to see what he could do in a Ferrari or Macca. Maybe RBR can be a winner in 2009?

Congrats Mark on your signing for next year. Best of luck:)

Good for him, he has proven time and time again that he is a good racer. Hopefully Red Bull will be one of the top teams next year and they should be challenging for wins too.
Also Gaz, you are a idiot. Mate if you are going to bag someone out, at least have some reasons for it. Or are you one of these idiots who want people too response to your stupid comment?

Great to hear, well done to Mark and to Red Bull. I only hope Red Bull keep heading in the direction they are going, and if they can make a big leap with the new regulations next year, that would be even better.

P.S. Gaz - get a life

Well done to Mark Webber, he has driven fantastically this year and fully deserves this extension to his contract. Many people are predicting that with the new regs and slick tyres, Red Bull are going to be pushing the front runners hard and Mark Webber could for once be in a car that will allow him to challenge for podiums on a regular basis.

Wow, why are so many people so critical of Mark? He is consitent in qualifying, and given good reliability, he is a strong race finisher. In a factory team, he would be a race winner. I'm glad that his future is secured for the next year with Red Bull as they are definately heading in the right direction. I am afraid they might struggle next year with the new regs though. I hope I am proved wrong.
