jb i think you will find that the majority of posters all have the same opinion as yourself but at the end of the day it all depends on how much of a backhander bernie is going to get as to where the race takes place and i dont think there will be a race a donnington because it will not be ready in time. Hope i am proved wrong but we will wait and see

I've been to the last ten F1GP at Silverstone - and the improvements are amazing. This year i drove in and out on all three days with no trouble at all. The facilities are great, access is now fine unless you arrive mid morning and try to leave directly after the race, and despite comments above if you sit in Stowe or Club you can see a great chunk of the track. I'm devastated that F1 will no longer go there - watching an F1 car through Copse, Maggots and Beckets is something everyone should get to do! Whilst I don't intend to miss the 2010 GP because of it's location i'm disappointed to say the least.

ok so whats going to happen. millions of pounds spent on new facilities (good), millions of pounds spent on removing and re-tarmaking of gravel traps (bad) millions of pounds spent on changing the circuit for F1, this will include several thousands of pounds making it wider and several more thousands adding hairpins designed by the moron that is tilke.

so in total they ruin another great track. Silverstone doesn't need as much work, has already got planning permission and imo is better for F1 (not slating donnington but its more of a bike place). As for better viewing, surely thats going to be ruined when they modify the track.

i dont think that the GP should be moved in 2010. they certainly didnt think about the locals and how this will affect them, and the economic of the village, when it gets moved.
silverstone is a small village which only really has the grand prix to put it on the map, and they are taking that away from them.
most of the people i have spoke to think it should stay at silverstone, this would clearly be the easier choice, and from my experience most of the locals love it.

Silverstone is an appalling circuit for viewing and the facilities are nothing special. Donington is far better to watch from but most other things associated with it need a lot of work. I went to the MotoGp a couple of weeks ago and was out within 30 minutes of leaving. The roads were set up much as they used to do back in the 90s and in my view worked well(we were in a car)I think it tends to serve Silverstone right for not getting their finger out. Old Bernie has been on about it for 5 years now. I just hope MotoGp doesn't go to Silverstone. I'm not much interested in F1 - hardly racing these days - but if the punters get a better deal at donington because of it - good luck!

Having been going to MotoGP at Donington for over a decade now it''s going to take every penny of that £100m to bring the circuit up to standard. When you consider Ecclestone''s constant gripes about access, parking and general maintenence of Silverstone then you just have to look at what''s currently on offer at Donington. On raceday Sunday at MotoGP over 85k came(half on bikes) & cars took 4hrs to get out, all parked on grass.Facilities are at 70''s standards inc the new pits, access to infield from Redgate impossible & half the infield a moto-x track,its all of it a mudpit when it rains.The only positive is the circuit has a soul unlike silverstone although don''t expect to see much overtaking

BYE BYE British GP. Bernie / Max get their own way, fans complain because of facilities etc and attendances drop.... perfect excuse.

Donington! Ive just had a similar feeling to when London got the olympics - Oh the pain! F1 in 2 years has Bernie actually been there? and by road rather than chopper. The motogp teams say it is the worst facilities on their calender. 5 year plan of investment whoops 2010 is in 2 years. It will be a disaster, what were they thinking of! It will take at least 10 years to get the Park up to scratch. Plus point is Motogp to Silverstone?
