what are nicole and yamaha r1 talking about???
one claims that "Ferrari wanted lewis to win" and the other claims that he was "gifted" the win.

oh ok so when LH was lapping 5 secs quicker per lap than everyone else when all were on the same tyres this was luck was it??? for the 'hard of intellect' please stop the bigotry and have some humility, he drove a superb race today, in his home GP, in conditions where many more experienced drivers failed. does anyone honestly believe Ferrari wanted a McL driver to win??

anyone trying to compare LH to senna or schumi are crazy. he's only in his 2nd season, he shows great potential but at the moment that's all it is... potential.

That was awesome, after all the media did to keep you down you still rose to the occassion. Keep your head up and race. To lap all Ferraris and for people to say you were not a better brit to win, ask where DC and JB finished. I think people shoukd keep their mouths shut but talk sence.

I've just come back from the race and it was brilliant - the support Lewis recieved was awesome and it was very, very richly deserved. So much to say and not enough time...

Hamilton clearly has wet weather prowess. I'm not ultimately convinced he'd have won in the dry, but in those conditions he was insanely quick and being able to compete in the rain so quickly and consistently shows immense skill. As far as I could tell, only the top 3 had a race without a spin, off or delay. Two of these drivers are amongst the most exprienced drivers ever - and they were still well over a minute behind Hamilton! True his car maybe helps, but even that kind of advantage isn't down to car alone...

I hope this kind of drive does bring a bit of humility to Crash forums. The guy is pretty chastised on here by some and yet having gone through the comments so far, the response seems really positive (even from those you wouldn't expect it from, which is great!). You can fault a faultless drive after all I suppose. Now he just has to keep it up, which I'm sure he can.

Well done Lewis!
I think he is the faster driver of all today!
if he manages to control his passion for success and wins to a logical level
he will be unbeatable!I couldn't believe how hard he pushed Kovalainen at the
first laps!Very dangerous attack at these conditions but shows the stuff he is
made of!He is born to be the first!Ofcourse if he hit Kovi today everybody would bash him!Now he is Hero! The difference between success & failure is very thin!but i think that every champion should have that attitude although inevitably sometimes he will pay
a price for that choice!only experience can reduce that price!

way to shut up all the doubters, that was an incredible drive, one of the greats.

about massa, you know that guy deserves a top drive i think, i dont care what anyone says, when it all works for him im not sure anyone can get close. he doesnt hide from admitting it when het gets it wrong either, i dont know, he's probably too humble for ferrari.

if someone doesnt deserve a drive in F1 its jenson button in my opinion - thats not based on todays performance i might add.

anyway who cares, we've got a great second half of the season coming thats for sure!

In defense of us hammy-haters: it's not that we doubt his talent or ability, it's his personal character we dont like. We never said the guy could'nt drive.

@ Nicole Radha

Quote "even the great Ross Brawn got it wrong for Honda"

WTF? I don't think so. He was the only one to get it right, Handa had a fuelling rig problem which has sweet FA to do with Ross Brawn. But he made the best call to go Extreme Wets - they put Jenson on them too, but he still couldn't stay on the track!
