I like Lauda and have read a couple of his books. However, he should be ashamed for what he said about Fernando last year.

the thing about niki is that he says it how he sees it and has never tried to gloss anything over and if as you say you have read two of his books you should know that

Who is Mr Lauda? You mean the guy who never had any success managing Ferrari and Jaguar?

So mosava, you're so new to the world of Formula One that you don't realise Niki Lauda was a VERY successful driver, winning the World Drivers Championship in 1975,1977 and 1984?
The same Niki Lauda that had his last rites read to him after a horrific accident at the 1976 German GP at the Nurburgring and returned to racing just weeks later and pushed James Hunt to the championship the same year?
The same Niki Lauda who left F1 to start and run his own very successful airline and returned to F1 to win another championship?

Neither did he ever never manage Ferrari.

How about knowing the facts before you disagree with something he said just because he was praising a driver you don't like!

yeah, ramjam, nikki was one of the greats. in 76, he basically gifted the WDC to james hunt. he was ahead in the ranking but pulled out of japanese GP due to torrential conditions, a very brave decision.

The first time I saw Mr Lauda driving, was in Francorchamps, in a Ford Capri (yes, I am that new!). The most impressive thing about him at that time was already his marketing machine. His race was average.
Mr Lauda won 25 GP in 13 years. Hardly breathtaking.
When he retired, he was sports manager, or counselor, or something at Ferrari. It was a disaster. He then went on as sports director at Jaguar. It was a disaster.
Not long ago, he was seeing Mr Hamilton as a failure...
As a Doctor, I won't speak about his dreadful condition after his accident.
I do not dislike LH, I just wish he goes on like during these last two GP. He was impressive. Less talk and more drive. And great driving!
