"The report claims that the full range of checks was unable to be completed immediately after the German race, hence the need for McLaren to present the V10 in Budapest."

There certainly will be trouble if McLaren present a V10 engine!

F1 » Hamilton engine check 'routine'

German Grand Prix winner Lewis Hamilton is to have his engine checked by the FIA, but only as part of a routine programme resulting from the technology freeze imposed ahead of last season.

A brief bit of tension for FIA cnspiracy theorists, especially so close after the courtcase, but I don't think there is anything in this one.

Interesting that the Scuderia are looking at trying a sharkfin cowl. To think that Ferrari would be picking up an innovation from a midfield team!

Robsy, it was Maclaren who first tested it in Hockenheim and now Maclaren are testing nose horn wings, an innovation from Honda and BMW. But there must be some potential in that sharkfin cover that almost all the top teams are testing it.

That V10 bit sounds to good to be true... It shows how knowledgeable the media people are. As for FIA inspectors if they cannot make the difference in between a V10 and V8 at a glance F1 has more problems than the escapades of Mosley... and all those saints populating the paddocks and those retired who never had their names and phone numbers listed in a Madame's black book...

Those paddle engine torque adjusters still smell a little fishy to me. Being able to adjust engine torque on the fly sounds like a form traction control. I think McLaren is trying to pull a fast one.

i know its away from the topic of this thread, but personally, i think that the shark fins are horrible. and the antlers/rolls royce mascots are even worse. isnt it a pity that cars cannot be made clean looking as in the 60s . i know aero is being altered for next year, but has anyone an idea of what will or will not be allowed???
