This is stupid. I think it just shows how much of a bitter, domineering man he is - now he has a sniff of victory he is going to drag everyone through the mire. He won't be satisfied until he's got even more money, destroyed the journalism profession and ruined the reputation of motorsport - all for his own sneering little pride.

It will achieve nothing more than to satisfy his greed and well-being, because this will surely make him even more unpopular.
