When a sport becomes an "INDUSTRY" it does generally seems to suck to all but the fanboys. F1 needs to shed the oswald and the dwarf and stop surgically removing drivers personalities. Losing traction control has been a good start back towards a sport rather than an engineering exercise in building amazing advertising hordings. Now lose the wings and bring back proper slicks and we'll be getting there. Oh and get rid of pit stops they are truly daft. Pass on the bloody track that's what it's there for.

I won't exactly call 7 wins, 30 podiums, 13 poles, and 12 fastest laps a flop or that he couldn't make it in F1! Let him criticize if he wants. He was actually in the team. We complain and share our opinion daily about teams and drivers and we haven't spent a fraction of a second in pit lane. He has a right to complain a thousand times more than us bums!

Right Said Raw Dawg!!!
If the Driver is that a Flop and his opinions don't matter, a reputed publication wouldn't go across the Atlantic to interview him. He just spoke out his mind like he always did

What makes JPM my fav F1 driver post 2000 is he was only bloke, who never backed off to overtake on track. Compare his performance with that of HK, at this stage of season he had already won a race and taken podium for Macca. His 2004 Brazil drive to win race in dog of Williams car proves him a race winners.

About spinning on warmup lap(Oz'06)well some punks on current grid have rear ended cars in pit lane and hit wrong buttons to stall the car while chasing a position on track ('07) :-o

I think there is a fine line between being robotic and being perfectionists. I suppose one can't live without the other in a sport where there is a lot at stake. NASCAR don't have quite the same finely tuned machines, so there probably isn't as much attention to detail that often comes as a result of being 'robotic'.

It's a different culture that maybe comes from him building his career in US where things probably are more relaxed. At the end of the day though, success in NASCAR probably won't make him better known than for his success in F1 because of what it is.

If you dont want to take f1 serioisly then fine just call yourself nascar or stock car or any other crap what the americans call racing. WOW lets go round on the oval and hit each other. When montoya went to mclaren it was the best team in the land i recall him saying.. Practice what you preach or come back and drive for RBR and prove you dont have to take f1 seriously!!!!

Ron the bull****.

Not exactly! He raced in Europe looong before he came to the US. He was the F3000 champion remember? He tested for F1 teams before he even came to the States. He was brought through the ranks the European way. I guess racing in the States in Champ Car taught him that you can race without your head stuck up your **** At the end of the day for him he has to enjoy it - it sounds like he lost the enjoyment for F1.

I THINK IT WAS ZANARDI WHO WAS ASKED WHAT HE THOUGHT OF HIS SACKING BY HIS TEAM. HE REPLIED "YOU DONT SPIT ON THE PLATE YOU HAVE BEEN EATING OFF FOR THE LAST YEAR".HE MUST HAVE BEEN A REAL GENTLEMAN.

JPM is always controversial and fills a slow moving sports news day.......bit like Danica Patrick........not sure whether he has anything new to say and isn't Nascar just as tightly controlled when it comes to toeing the line ?

Montoya was the nearest thing we have had to a personality in F1 for years. He may not have been the most complete F1 driver but regarding overtaking he used to see opportunities that were invisible to everyone else.If he kept his big mouth shut he wouldn't be Montoya would he ?.
