Good decision, it seems Heikki may not have the ultimate pace of Lewis, but he's pretty much the ideal teammate for him.

Glad thats nipped the rumour mill in the bud. Heikki just seems to take time getting used to a car, and I think next season he will be a real force to be reckoned with. I'd really like to see him get a maiden win before the seasons end this year though - its impossible to dislike him.

I suppose the percentages that come from managing a Williams test driver don't compare to those from a 7x WDC, but even so I think Weber was pushing his luck with the statements he made.

Makes sense to me. As much as I dislike McLaren and Ron Dennis, this is a good move for them. There were some people (me included) who said that Mclaren would not have a chance this year without the development skills and set-up knowledge of Alonso, but it would appear that they are doing quite okay as they are thanks very much.

sherrie, are you on the wrong thread here. ferrari engine will be inspected when the unit is RANDOMLY picked. actual thread is about kovi who deserves to be with a strong team and treated as an equal. he is WdC material but needs full support to achieve this

I think that Heiki has great potential and is a very likeable person!
And after last years dramas and tensions i think that Mclaren is so relieved to have a calm atmosphere that wants to retain it at every mean!And by confirming Kovi early, they manage it for sure!No more rumours,no more insecurities!Only racing from now on!
Ron Dennis learned many things from his mistakes last year I suppose!
