F1 » Bernie prays earthquake will halt Olympics

F1 ringmaster Bernie Ecclestone courts controversy by suggesting that the 2012 London Olympic Games will be a disaster after Beijing - and jokes that we should pray for an earthquake to prevent them from taking place.

Certainly using the metaphor of an earthquake was inappropriate to say the least: however his sentiments are fully understandable. I think no city would relish having to follow the performance of Beijing, and BE is quite correct in both his reported comments - that London must not try to copy/outdo China, which is impossible, and that the organising team will get no credit for success, only vitriol for any perceived failure. Nearly all the posts seem to either ignore or miss the facts and just heap insults at BE, which reflect more on the posters than their intended target. Damon Russell is quite right. And whatever you think of him, and his profit from F1, BE has an A1 record there. Fact.

There will BE no earthquake...........even the Poison Dwarf can't afford THAT............!! NO........the reason Max Muesli is quitting F1 next year, is so that he can take-over (with friend Bernie....) running the London Olympics.......!

Of course Max will make a few changes (doesn't he ever...?), like having a few extra events, such as the 100 meter Goose-step, the Synchronised Blow-Job and the Four-***** relay...................should be interesting!!!

With Bernie & Max, F1 is already a disaster waiting to happen. We don't need an earthquake.

You know it pisses me off that Martin Brundle looks for him on grid, he is such an annoying little ****, instead of hoarding the cash, why doesn't he leave a legacy, lets face it if he doesn't spend it will all go to the female hinger on, and lets face it he's running out of time.

This old dude is not in his monopolistic F1 element when he comments poorly on the Olympics. The Olympics are a world event, much bigger than 10 pairs of racing cars. His comments are a disgrace, considering the rich history of the Olympics.
