F1 » Hamilton: F1 gets boring without overtaking

We need to inject the fun back into F1 with more possibility for overtaking, underlines McLaren-Mercedes' British star and world championship leader Lewis Hamilton.

Robsy, why should herman bernie or max care,they are raking the money in with there fortnightly processions.
why introduce overtaking and put these overpaid primadonna's lives at risk,i'm afraid if you want the excitment of seeing overtaking in f1 you have to go back to the pre ayerton senna's death days.
F1 died when senna died.

Bernie = more and more money
Max = spanked botty
Herman = kart track designer
Formula 1 = safe,sanitised processional racing!! with occasional anomalies thrown in

Boring? Now that''s an understatement! Here are some proposals:
Bring back 18" rear slicks and 15" front!
Reduce the aerodynamic aid to a basic front and rear wing.
Employ drivers with a personality! Goodbye Raikkonen.
Get rid of all the pretentious ****s who have to be seen in the paddock!
Stick a nice 3.5 litre engine in the back of the car and a manual change gearbox.
Get rid of steering assistance.
Sounds familiar?

Malcolm, given the pig headedness of some drivers and the lack of talent of others, I would choose Raikkonen over them any weekend of the year.
If you ever met the guy, I guarantee you that you would see the personality hidden inside that ice-cool shell. He's a very fun guy who has had his wings clipped by the PR driven crap of F1!

I have to giggle at this comment. There hasnt been any overtaking in F1 for years. Whilst there is this constant chase of technology and the money being made and spent no-one cares about making a spectacle for the fans. One day people will wake up and wonder why the hell they are paying hundreds of pounds to go to an F1 race when it would be less boring watching your grass grow.
Before you lambast my comments, I have been to F1 races on and off for the last 20 years and as an individiual spectacle of seeing a fast and furious car it is amazing but as a sport with the potential of a fight for the lead it has been dead for years. :?

Malcolm I thought the goal was to make the racing exciting not the press conferences. Drivers with "personality" typically receive the most criticism. Look at Montoya, Irvine, and Villenueve. All have very strong personalities and they are all seen as trouble makers.

It is sad that aside from the start of a race qualifying has become more exciting than the race itself.

I wouls add to Malcolm's proposals the return to real road race circuits, as opposed to the giant parking lot, generic circuits used today.
