FIA Statement: Formula 1 2009
"Overtaking to be banned next season because its too dangerous"

BLOODY DISGUSTING! terrible decision by the stewards, what advantage did he gain for goodness sake? i hope mclaren appeal and win for the sake of F1! i just knew that this would happen, it deters the drivers from trying. you never would have had senna penalised for such things.

has completely ruined one of the most entertaining races of the year.

F1 » Hamilton loses Belgian Grand Prix win

McLaren-Mercedes' F1 World Championship leader Lewis Hamilton sees his hard-fought Belgian Grand Prix victory at Spa-Francorchamps today sensationally taken away from him post-race by FIA stewards.

McLaren should and must bring this to court. No need to appeal the FIA. They are freaking corrupt to know anyone except Ferrari would always lose. Lewis did what the rulebook stated. But the stewards, again, put the rulebook aside specifically for McLaren. If there''s anyone to get penalised, it''s them: FIA race stewards.

This is an absolute travesty and will dent the image of F1 again. The FIA/stewards are clearly biased towards Ferrari, its an utter utter joke. Instead of remembering this for the awesome wheel to wheel racing it will be remembered as a farce.

I''m not a fan of Hamilton, Massa or Raikkonen and I enjoyed watching the tussle at the end. I''m really disappointed the FIA politics have again dealt the sport a disreputable blow.

Absolutely pathethic!. If Lewis hadn''t cut the chicane, then he would have hit Kimi. This proves that the F in the FIA stands for Ferrari. After the Max Mosley scandal & the FIA favouritism of Ferrari, F1 is becoming an absolute joke.

I am not a Hamilton fan but this is ridiculous! F1 is now no longer a sport, the results are decided by so called "stewards!" This would never have happened 10 years ago. Hamilton drove with courage & determination and was within the sporting regulations, by letting Kimi back into the lead. Very diappointed & I think something has to be done to put a stop to amatuer stewards changing results. There should be some sort of official FIA judge.
Won''t be watching anymore.....live chess seems more appealing right now!

Having seen the replays and the way the situation was handled on track and taken into account the lap that followed - that decision is a complete joke.

Adieu F1. I''ll watch the wrestling from now on - it is more honest.

I never held to the view that the FAI were pro Ferarri and anti McLaren but I am now.

Hamilton was forced out by the Ferrarri and immediately gave up the place gained so why issue a penalty

This confirms my statement made on the missed Massa penalty in the Valencia GP.
Two ways two measures.

It is time to get rid of Mosley or I propose to all genuine F1 fans to boycott F1 races until all teams are treated fairly.

FIA is concerned with no overtaking, and when it happened, it penalised the driver who did it in the perfect way and according to the rules.

What a pathertic sore loosers couple! -Ferrari & FIA
