FIA Statement: Formula 1 2009
"Overtaking to be banned next season because its too dangerous"

BLOODY DISGUSTING! terrible decision by the stewards, what advantage did he gain for goodness sake? i hope mclaren appeal and win for the sake of F1! i just knew that this would happen, it deters the drivers from trying. you never would have had senna penalised for such things.

has completely ruined one of the most entertaining races of the year.

Hamilton peanalised for racing, or was it just for overtaking a Ferrari? What an absolute joke, when you get exiting racing in F1, the best driver gets demoted by the FIA (Ferrari In Ascendance)

More of "ze punishment" by Mr Mosley and his cronies. So long as Mr Mosley is in place, and his FIA cronies will protect him against almost anything, a fantastic sport will tarnished by his filthy personality and blatent bias against McLaren.

Support all of the above comments, never watching F1 again. The World Superbikes from Donington were fantastic! Why bother flipping the channels to watch both?

This doesnt surprise me as the ferrariIA wanted Massa to win and the so called FIA are useless and bend backwards for Ferrari. If this was a ferrari driver no penalty wouldve have been enforced. Just think back to the last race and surprise surprise Massa didnt get punished.....

A ludicrous and grossly unfair decision. That''s two race results in a row which have been provisional and at the whim of the stewards. I don''t know why I bother watching Formula 1 anymore. I just wasted three hours this afternoon watching this sham. I hope McLaren appeal this brainless decision. Hamilton crossed the chicane ahead of Raikonnen, gave back the lead. That''s all that he needs to do, and he did it. I can''t put into words how angry this makes me feel. Formula 1 is a joke now. Official.

If Massa wins the title by five or six points from Hamilton this year, the poor guy will forever be marked down as a champion who benefited from a miscarriage of justice.

FIA = Ferrari International Assistance rules again, after a terrific fight right to the end how can the stewards taken this stupid action, Hamilton was forced to miss the chicane and realising he gained an advantage he allowed Kimi to go back passed him, so I cannot understand how then can then penalise him, if Ferrari can''t win on the track they can count on the stewards help. What was the farce in Spain, Massa got away with it there, after being a Ferrari & Formual 1 fan for years,I''m about just to give up on it because it is just getting stupid....

Unfortunately this is another example of Anti-Mclaren atttitude that FIA has..
Initially it was pro-Schumi.. now its Pro- Ferrari..
Am sure even Kimi must be surprised at this decision!!

Having read the reports of the GP2 events and all of the penalty splashed around there as well it is clear that the FIA and their representatives are far more interested in their personal power bases and authoritarian control options than they are in motor sport.

No doubt this attitude also extends to non racing interests in motoring and personal freedoms in which the FIA also exhibits an interest. A 'Charitable' interest at that.

It simply stinks.
