F1 » BMW admits to Alonso F1 talks for 2009

Alonso just needs to go away. Now he's going to ruin another driver's chances at a quality team by bumping someone out of BMW. If he really is the greatest, shouldn't he just stay at Renault and continue returning that team to its previous glory (surprised they aren't in the title hunt already since he is so wonderful).

i cant see bmw getting rid of kubica i think it will nick that goes but having said that as the article says kubica would be like another hamilton to alonso as they are both aggressive.

They mention honda if alonso goes to bmw i think kubica could possibly do really well at honda if ross brawn gets honda's act togeather

i agree barry

but kubica and alonso get on so well, they could work like trulli and alonso did. but they would just take points away from each other

would love to see kubica win a title in a honda, thats a great shout!

this would be an interesting one. i know both have the occassional game of poker so are friendly off-paddock. i don't know how to read kubica as a person. he seems introverted but that could be just a shield to fend off intruders into his private life (we see LH corroded by this media invasion). but pairing two closely matched drivers, both still with high amitions and both being seen as No1's in their current setups could prove difficult. this is in part due to that latin tendency to be fiery!! i would love to see them matched, just for the purpose of assessing kubica's true credentials. interesting

On serious Note - Alonso and Kubica would play perfect team-mates, both having similar driving style, both good at car development and both are fast. And they are good buddies. Not to mention a) BMW has not taken any sides with current drivers, given both support b)Kubica is not "Self engrossed" individual, based on his podium interviews, and body language he shows on camera.

So this combinition will surely take BMW closer to regular wins.

But I still think FA should help Renault to come out of current slump (and of course other teams who are blocking their engine review request)

On a lighter note - Fernando make sure that the KERS devices on that car are properly grounded :p .

I agree that those two would give BMW more consistency possibly challenging the top two for the constructors title with some luck. I doubt Mario T. would sign Alonso though for the fact that he is highly methodical in his approach to make BMW a winner. Signing Alonso would mean that the goal for them next year (not 2 years down the road) is and should be to win a WDC title and that maybe too much pressure too soon for BMW.

Yet another contract Alonso is looking to get out of early. I thought he signed for Renault for 2 years???
news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/motorsport/formula_one/7136498.stm

Given this track record for leaving teams mid-contract, why would he think Ferrari would ever be interested in his lack of commitment???
