Barry, what do you do then, wait till your on your on in the shower and pull the head off it, shouting I've won, naw it happens as soon as you've crossed the stripe and the chequered flag is out for you and you alone and you share your joy with your crew, thats when it sinks in.

MG stop stealing someelses conspiracy, I posted this on another story yesterday, I cannot for the life of me see how he managed to spin it erse first into the barrier, its all gamesmanship Ferrari have been doing this type of thing for years, also isn't it strange how we never hear any on board commentary from the ferrari team to their drivers during a race, we do after they have won or claimed pole, but never during a race, but we hear other teams transmissions during a race.

Ferrari, thought they could copy Regie by telling KR to bin it and allow massa to leap frog everyone, when everyone came into to refuel, the only thing wrong with that was that everyone was fueled to the finish.

ROFLMAO @ you guys who want to believe in some conspiracy where Nelson crashed on purpose. You guys better get your tinfoil hats on so the government doesn't read your brains as well. I think it's pretty obvious by now: Nelson is overrated, and I would be flabbergasted to see him back at Renault next year. Fernando drove great to get the win. Now you can try to play it down as though he only won due to Nelson's crash -- and you'd be right! You can always make "well, if this/that hadn't happened..." arguments. But what happens in a race is what happens. Alonso was the winner as a result of the accident and not putting it into the wall under the pressure. Just admit that he did a great job!

@ derek0113... No need to be so narcissistic! There are 7bn people in the world, and I bet we dont all go to the sites you do. It is possible someone can formulate a view independant of derek0113 and it coincidently be the same :p

Anyway, I was walking round the circuit for much of the weekend and watched most of the Aston, Formula BMW and Porsche Cup car action and, believe me, it would be tough to step out like that at that corner.

Agree with Alex too - if your out in Q2 you top up for a long run. Very strange strategy. Alonso's commentary was available for the race, but Nelson's wasn't - I think this is a driver choice (as with on board cameras).

... add to the feigned crash possibility:

- Flavio blamed Barrichello for the saftey car action in a very brief post race interview
- Renault will want to demonstrate to potential 2009 sponsors that they are competitive and can get on the podium (worth trashing a car for - may be?)
- Not too dissimilar to Nelsons lucky break at Hockenheim: so there was a precedent for Renault to perform this way
