Oh thank god Christmas just came early. I have only three more times to listen to James bloody Allen warble ''GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO'' and Louise Goodman ask the inane question of the driver who has just crashed/broken down whether they are disappointed. Sorry for Ted Kravitz as he was good with team info but good riddance to the rest.

I thought David Coulthard had just been confirmed as being a consultant to red bull next year. looks like hes gonna have a lot of his time taken up by the commentary job too.

Thank heavens they saw sense not to include Adrian Chiles.

The line up seems a lot better than many had feared.

Actually I was..never really focused on Walkers love of Mansell or Hill...was usually rolling on the floor having listened to his latest mistake...and given the choice I wouldnt switch the sound off i'd just mute J.A - thankfully only had to endure him for 2 races in the last few years...2 races too many mind

Well it could have been a lot worse!

Steve R. is the only real loss in my view.

Just need the MotoGP team sorted with with Moody and Ryder confirmed and I'll be happy for 09...

Do they broadcast on the internet?
I'm from Quebec, and our commentary are quite good indeed, but to have DC commenting would really please me.
An no advert, you are really a lucky bunch on your side of the pond.

No Ben Edwards either, which can only be a good thing. Mr Hysterical has spoilt many an a1GP race for me.

Steve Rider jumped ship from the BBC, no loyalty there so why would they want him back?

Ted Kravitz will only be a loss to F1, he should still be fronting ITV's BTCC

Jake blinking Humphrey who?? Do the Beebs bosses not research anything? the last time a football 'commentator' tried his hand at at presenting a motor programme we ended up with bloody useless Tim Loverboy on 5th Gear. Should've given the job to the highly entertaining Ed Leigh!

No James Allen is the new I think 100% of F1 fans wanted, and thank the lord "old sausage fingers Ryder" is being shoved out!
As for the new blood, lets give them a chance to prove themselves before we start slating them. Coulthard and the rest may end up surprising us.

I have only one request, and it would apply only to the British GP, when the BBC provide coverage. Please please please would you refrain from showing incessant pictures of Hamilton's father in the pits. It has no relevance other than the occasional"reaction shot" after a win, or problem, say. Massa's dad gets the odd clip - and that's fine. But every bloody race he's in the camera - not his fault at all (or maybe it is???) - at least we don't have James Allen over here, so it's not all bad. I was wondering if "James Allen" was an anagram of "I'll never be Murray Walker" - but it's not - there's too many bollox in Allen.
