Oh thank god Christmas just came early. I have only three more times to listen to James bloody Allen warble ''GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO'' and Louise Goodman ask the inane question of the driver who has just crashed/broken down whether they are disappointed. Sorry for Ted Kravitz as he was good with team info but good riddance to the rest.

Excellent news in several ways. But the very best news is - as I am soooooooooooooooooooooo happy to see from countless others here - that there will be no JAMES ALLEN !!!!!!!!! How good is that? Yippee!

I am also very relieved that Martin Brundle WILL be there. This gut knows his stuff but he is far more in tune with what people want than the gushing sycophant previously mentioned. Get real J. Allen: too late, :you're history! :)

Thank god for that. No more commercial breaks while we miss half the race, no more of James Allens constant drivel and crackpot theories, no more insulting questions to the drivers and useless pitlane insights from Kravitz, and no more of bimbo Goodman and her tiny brain. All 3 of them knew nothing about F1 when they started and they didn't improve one bit.

Blundell is a decent guy but just a little bit too dull and conservative in his opinions to be really enjoyable to watch. Coulthard should be more fun.

Brundle is a comic god though, thank god he's been retained. Legard/Humphrey, the jury is out.

Steve Rider is under contract with ITV for another 2-3 years and will be covering ITV's football coverage with the Champions League and England, and I have liked Steve Rider alot as I think he is the best anchorman in Britain and some of us have have pretty much grown up with him on our screens with Grandstand on Saturday afternoons on BBC. besides he left BBC because they could not give him the long term commitment up to 2012 and there was also disagreements about presentation style. So it was going to be highly doubtful he will go back to the BBC. Coulthard will be very good as well as he will bring up to date knowledge on the current drivers and Brundle will deal with the techical...

continued..

aspects that goes with racing but is someone who is very outspoken and can be quite funny as well. I am still to warm Jake Humphries as a presenter as he sometimes reminds as puppy that needs house training and as for Lee McKenzie I have got no idea on her to be honest with you. But I would expect BBC will show the races on their HD channel as well as the normal channel and give the viewers more access than what ITV have done.

The commentry team sounds good, but i am more concerned that the race and warm up coverage doesnt degenerate into the dumbed down 'Lewis Hamilton Show', 'F1 for sun readers' as i call it, drivel of the last couple of years. Theres plenty more teams and i'm more interested to hear and see whas going on at BMW or Toro Rosso than listen to Hamilton bigging himself up over and over again. I'm not especially anti-hamilton but he's only one of twenty drivers out there that make the spectacle that i tune in to see.

I beleave Martin Brundle is the best person for the commentary team,as an ex racing driver, qualified engineer, knowledgable about the inside workings of teams and their developments, informative, interesting and a great sence of humour, what more do you need??
He has my vote, and i''m sure many other peoples too!!

The bbc must be crazy if there is any truth that scotch whingeing gold medallist david coulthard is going to front their coverage of formula 1.Its bad enough having to listen to the arrogant little prat whingeing after he fails yet again to finish a race due to his own incompetance
