So why didn''t he recieve a pit stop penalty for nearly colliding with another car at Valencia? Oh I know, it''s because this penalty wouldn''t have any effect on the championship cos he had already *****d the race up!

F1 » Massa evokes possible pit-stop change for Ferrari

Felipe Massa insists that his pit-stop calamity in the Singapore Grand Prix - Ferrari's third in as many races in F1 in 2008 - was the result of human, not technical error...but admits the manual lollipop system could be brought back.

I noticed that for Kimis''s final stop (apart from the one in the wall)the lollipop had been retrieved from the truck and pressed into service.

I wonder if Martin Brundle''s prediction came true and the traffic lights were dumped in the paddock skip? If being released early equals a drive through, the Valencia stewards should explain why a 25 second penalty wasn''t imposed after the race.

You know it''s very funny that this webiste has not slammed Felipe Massa and Ferrari for the horrible race they had in Singapore. If Lewis and McLaren had made the same stupid mistakes made by the Ferrari drivers. The Headlines on this site would''ve read "Lewis Blows it in Singapore" or "McLaren Buckles under the Pressure at Singapore". Crash.net you guys really need to show some fairness in how you report the activity in F1.

Nobody has mentioned about the trail of fuel being discharged from the hose down the pitlane.Could anyone imagine what a small spark could have caused? Of course that was not as dangerous as Lewis Hamilton's driving last time out!! :? :?

Has any one noticed that Ferrari seem to have it in for Adrian Sutil?

Monaco - Sutil was running second or third and Raikkonen runs into him.
Valencia - Massa is released into path of Sutil.
Singappore - Massa is released into path of Sutil with Fuel Hose attached.

William the reason no one has mentioned it because there is a safety shut off valve as soon as the rig realise something is wrong it and shuts down. No more fuel pumps out and all is safe.

Of course the pump stops delivering fuel in the event a system issues, but there was fuel still in the hose when he ripped it off. It was clear on television that Felipe had spewed a bit of fuel on the pit lane and his tank cap was still open so had a spark occured Felipe Massa would've lost more than the race my friend, he would've been the second Brazilian killed in F1.

Bodie, dont forget Valencia 2008, Massa rejoins curcuit and causes Sutil's crash into the barriers. Damn lucky he never got a 10 place grid penalty for Japan for that one!

Ferrari's pit-stop lights are inherently unsafe.

There's a fundamental difference between the lights and the lollipop: once the light goes green, there's nothing to stop the driver. Even if he can still see the light, he won't look at it. The lollipop however, can be slammed back down on the nose of the car, the driver will notice it, and hit the brakes. We've seen it happen dozens of times, for instance with DC's botched pit-stop in Singapore.

Not being able to correct a mistake can lead to unnecessary dangerous situations, so the FIA should ban Ferrari's system.
