I don't think the safety car made the race humiliating - the botched pit-stop, followed by Massa and Raikkonen's driving did that I think. It is very easy to blame someone else for your own problems. After all, they couldn't exactly leave Piquet's car there!

Ferrari president Luca di Montezemolo has claimed that the Singapore Grand Prix 'night race' did little for F1's image.

Got to agree with di Montezemolo that if it wasn''t for the saftey car (& cars on different pit stop strategies) it wouldn''t have been an exciting race. F1 needs to watch out that - it''s loosing the ''overtaking'' & a bit too much emphasis is glitz & glamour these days. Singapore was certainly ''spectacular'', but comparing *the circuit* Silverstone has to better for *racing*.... and it''s leaving the calender....???? It all makes as much sence as the banking system.

He is right! Singapore was dreadfully dull - apart from his teams **** ups!

What BE see''s in Valencia and Singapore I don''t know.

F1 is a dreary dull sport in danger of becoming completely soporific. Lets hope the 2009 cars liven things up.

Ah well, if Raikonen is now going to race for the team in the next three races, meaning that he has to play second fiddle to Felipe Massa and ride shotgun to keep Lewis at bay, then we are in for a bit of excitement. The only problem is that Kimi has been underperforming both Felipe and Lewis all season and to keep Lewis at bay first he's got to be in front of him.
Luca Di Montezemolo cannot win with an inefficient management team and his first priority, although he's doing his best to keep moral up, is to sack Domenicali and Baldesseri and try to get Fernando in instead of Kimi. Michael would be best choice for Technical Director and race strategist of Ferrari. That would be something.

WHAT THE PRESIDENT IS SAYING IS IMPORTANT BECAUSE FERRARI ALWAYS PUT THE INTERESTS OF FORMULA ONE ABOVE THEIR OWN AND WILL NEVER DO ANYTHING TO BRING THE SPORT INTO DISREPUTE.

THAT IS ALL.

I couldn''t disagree more with Mr. di Montezemolo and his remarks are typical of the sour grapes and hysteria which has emenated from Ferrari over and over again.

This Grand Prix was the most interesting of spectacles and every other team managed to embrace it as what it was. The minor niggles that arose will be sorted for next year. I hope the Ferrari president isn''t suggesting that we return to the days when such street races had no safety car during accident fallout?

This is nothing more than lashing out after a disappointing weekend. Who voted this over-emotional and prone-to-ludicrous-outbursts man head of FOTA? :?

@Montezemolo - You are barking at the wrong tree :?.
No denying that if not Briatore hit "Car Spin" switch on Piquet's car :p this would have been another processional event. But lets not digress from core issues facing Ferrari. Team reorg marginalizing Jean Todt and Dumping Ross Brawn is hurting Ferrari. If your Love for Ferrari is more than your hatred of Todt-Brawn, suck up your pride and give the helm of operation back to those guys. Todt made Ferrari F1 team a well oiled and looked after machine that never failed. And Ross Brawn was always thinking on his feets to handle all tricky race situations and convert it to Ferrari's benefit ....
Enuff said - doesn't hurt to accept mistakes

Good boy Luca!
The man has a point-we don''t wanna watch glitz and glamour in a one-crash-decider race.
Yeah, Singapore is great by night, but the fact is that both fastest cars on the track (read Ferraris) couldn''t make a proper move. You can''t say they didn''t try...
All in all, another boring non-overtaking race on a horrible asphalt. One Monaco per year is enough, yet, Monaco is zillion year old race, and now we have another two brand new hi-tech/ no brain lullabies. Is racing dead? We need another Spa or Turkey, not sponsorship promenades...Those guys should be racers, not models.
Bad move Bernie boy

I bet he would'nt be this bitter if his Ferrari team had'nt funked up so badly!!!!

They had a bad weekend and he obviously can't accept it.

I believe the circuit was great for TV and spectators.

The organisers put on an excellent show for a 1st attempt and tried to rectify any problems that happened (removing the concrete mini bollards at the chicane).

Maybe its karma for the race win Massa got in Spa :p

what goes around comes around.
