I don't think the safety car made the race humiliating - the botched pit-stop, followed by Massa and Raikkonen's driving did that I think. It is very easy to blame someone else for your own problems. After all, they couldn't exactly leave Piquet's car there!

spot on ,igor. if you read ldm's full interview, he was criticising the us of a safety car, which can overturn, completely, a race. you get freak results when safety cars are deployed, and these are more likely to e in street races. lets et back to the proper circuits and see some proper racing.

Its not Singapore's fault. They organized a splendid grand prix. Its beautiful!

Its FIA's fault for using pit-stops so much so that F1 is a race of pit-stop strategies more than the actual driving itself.

Moto GP can be so damn interesting without pit-stops, why cant' F1?

FIA & Montezemolo, go figure ...

When you race on a track that would work better as a circus ring or something along those lines, anything can happen, because the real show was put on yesterday by the safety car," he fumed in an interview with Italy''s Gazzetta dello Sport, "This is humiliating for the F1 world and, during the next few weeks, I would like discuss this with all the other teams."
the circus ring and the humiliation was all in down to Ferrari surely ?!!! :D

Got to agree what a complete bore Singapore & Valencia were - get rid of them.

Why, Mr. Montezemolo? Why?
Why attributing negativity on others when the real pity was in your own.
The only circus-like proceeding happened on your own garage.

it could actually be the person designing the street circuits that is at fault

Oh Igor,

does it mean the Ferraris or the fastest cars should be given the easiest way to overtake the other cars ? Com¨®n, what you are saying is that fastest cars should always be at the front and winning the race. In that case, just decide the winner using fastest lap times. This is racing, and if fastest cars will always be winning, then we do not need any others in the race except the Ferraris and Mclarens.

I agree, to a certain extent, with you, 675 (love your nickname btw).

Banning pitstops has been suggested by a few insiders and would make for some pure racing. However, no pitstops do not automatically guarantee exciting races.
(MotoGP was a big bore this season, mind you, apart from those few laps in that one race.)

Maybe turning F1 into a two races per day event would make things more interesting: twice the adrenaline, double chances of winning points, no more waiting for pitstops - hence, easier to follow for spectators...

But what do I know... :?

I think the article should be aptly renamed as: "Ferrari clowns ''humiliating''"...

I''m a Tifosi and I feel disgusted by these comments. Very disgraceful behaviour. I pity the late Enzo Ferrari...
