Because she sucks. Sorry, I have no problem with more women in motorsport. But signing on a woman just for the sake of having one is dumb.

F1 » No Honda F1 test for Danica Patrick

Danica Patrick - the first woman ever to triumph in US open-wheel racing with her breakthrough Motegi IndyCar Series success earlier this year - is unlikely now to be given an F1 try-out with Honda, it would seem...

Ok so its fine for Beckham and Freddie Ljungberg to pose in next to nothing for the cameras but not Danica (who was not in next to nothing) and it was ok for Schumi to go crazy and rant at others (David Coulthard comes to mind for one) but not Danica.

She's suppose to be a role model, not some sex symbol. Like Anna Kournikova, she allowed herself to be marketed on her glamorous looks and that's not not doing her much credibility. That's why many people can't seem to take her seriously as a racing driver. Another thing is, she needs to act like a professional. Yes, racing incidents does happen from time to time but confronting the drivers everytime like that, isn't going to solve anything.

Robert see what you're saying but in fact she turned down Playboy.
The bikini poses were harmless as were the FHM. In fact she refused to do some of the poses that the latter asked her to do as she thought them too provacative and too revealing.
As for confrontation well the pit incident with Dixon was well justified. You can't just pull out on people like that, and as for Duno, well say no more.
Yes I am a fan and happy for her to accept critisism, I give it myself, but only when it's justified.

Surely, there's nothing wrong with test driving a F1 car. Loads of race drivers have done it before and it wasn't all that special. As for Danica competing in F1, I really can't see that happening unless she improved drastically. Shes too much of a model than a racing driver tbh. Half the time she poses in bikinis and gets her pictures published on playboy magazines and half the other time, she goes around acting like a drama queen at the track, often confronting with the male drivers, knowing full well that they won't dare do anything physical to her.

A VIEW FROM THE UK Pablo good, ur avin a laugh Schumi always blew him away and look at him now in Nascar lol
Whats all this fit but can''t drive very good stuff about Danica
Probably a lot of work needed to get her up to the F1 level I agree but a test would have been good.
lets not knock her gents after all the girl was the top american in the points this season and shes aiming for the top three next season
Hope she does it, after all every season has seen her improve and if she was that bad then surely Tissot, Go Daddy, Motorola etc would pull out of there sponsorship
its not just down to looks u know the logo''s are on the car as well.

Thanks Jeff, saved me having to explain to redteam that I was talking about first year in the current car/series.

And redteam, JW is an ex F3000 international champion (which is why he got to try out for minardi). He lost his seat in the Jaguar because Ford wanted a paying driver, no other reason. Of course you obviously don't consider F3000 a "major" open wheel series, so there's no point in even mentioning FPA champion prior to that.

DP, Toyota Atlantic, two seasons, never won a race (Kath Legge only spent one season in TA and won 3 races)

Lets see what happens next year once JW and the team have had a season to get used to the cars and tracks.

As a die-hard IRL fan I'd say Danica was an OK race car driver, better on ovals than road courses which I think suggests that the AGR's engineering is doing a bit more for her results than she is (general wisdom is that although its tricky to win on an oval, its not too difficult to be top-ten in a well-engneered car). Question for F1 teams is, would what she brought to F1 (MASSIVE increase in exposure worldwide) be worth having a so-so driver in one of their cars? Honda clearly think not.

Good grief redteam, shouldn't you be on indycar's website giving them wonderful reasons for why that Danica isn't getting a shot in a Honda F1 car? You did so well with the reason for her not doing the AMLs.

On the Justin vs Danica arguement:

Justin has 5 wins in the past 4 years and has finished the season 2nd (twice) and 3rd (once) in the ChampCar championship. He was the highest ranked driver with no oval experience in Indycar this year. Also he managed a 8th place finish at the US GP with Jaguar in 03.

Danica has a win in the past 4 years, her highest rank finsh in the championship is 6th (this year).

So I'm afraid Justin edges her out...

Ah yes - Danica Patrick - part time model, part-time race car driver.

Best thing about her are those tantrums - priceless.

Good decision Honda - most people outside of the US wouldn't have a clue who she was and probably would think she was a brolly girl :-o

btw I am not anti-women race drivers :D
