F1 » Hamilton admits: I hate driving for points

After settling for third place in Singapore, F1 World Championship leader Lewis Hamilton knows that consistency and restraint - rather than all guns blazing - are now the orders of the day in his title challenge, as the McLaren-Mercedes star enters the final three grands prix of the 2008 campaign with a seven-point advantage over Ferrari rival Felipe Massa.

Ian, everything that you have stated is cent percent accurate. read the context of my post. My point was FIA is nonprofessional and inconsistent. But as the posters before me were inclining that McLaren and Lewis are victimized thats not the case.
If they had to, they wouldn't have accepted McLaren bid for ECU, while the spy saga was raging on .
Having McLaren ECU means other teams are at backfoot to get best out of the system,if indeed FIA was against macca, they would have not given macca this advantage over competition.
And I have given examples advantage F1/Bernie has/had with Lewis winning championship,so they will help him rather than hurt his campaign.

!!Context is everything!!

I agree with Ian, the thing is there are all kinds of technical wizards in the world theres kids hackin banks and makin millions. there is always a vulnerability in any software system and im sure these super techs now what they r doing in F1. All the info on all the system would have to be made public so they r all on a level playin field. Espiescially this late on in the use of the ecu.

"Context Is Everything" !!! Does that make any sense to anyone. This reminds me of the phrase "pouring water on ducks back". Can't really help improve understanding of people who are hit with paranoia that their "favorite driver" and "favorite team" is victimized by the governing body. As much as I am against Ferrari, the macca/lewis fan-antics can't be helped.
If McLaren indeed is being victimized, nobody has forced them on gun-point to compete.
Have finally run out of patience with people that can't put things in "perspective"

I QUIT!!!! Hope All Fanatics are happy now

I have just watched the WTCC from Monza and can't quite get over why Rydell didn't get a penalty for cutting the first chicane with the Chevy nipping through in front of him, Rydell rejoined in third and never deferred his postion. Is there not a rule for seeking an advantage like this in the WTCC, or is grass tracking allowed, the first lap was also a case for handing out multi penalties, as those who took the corner properly were relegated several places. Please enlighten me someone cause I am thinking double standards here

Rickard Rydell has been stripped of the third place finish he secured in the opening race of the World Touring Car Championship weekend at Monza.

Rydell had taken the final spot on the podium behind team-mates Yvan Muller and Gabriele Tarquini but was found to have gained an advantage from cutting the first chicane on the final lap of the race.

As a result of a penalty handed down by race officials, the Swede plummets down the order and instead will be classified in 17th.

Good now this was a penalty I approved off

derek, did you see the dtm race. i think that every corner was either cut or else the run-off strip was used aspart of the circuit, and then, for contact, premat was given a ONE SECOND penalty!!!!

naw Rich, I had used up all my Petrol head time in the morning by watching the Moto GP and Race 1 of the WTCC, and never even got to see the World Superbikes, as it dragged me out to be her taxi driver. But that kind of penalty seems a waste of time debating over
